A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS RECOGNIZING FORMER
MAYOR HAROLD SAMUELS AND DEDICATING THE HAROLD SAMUELS
FINANCE BUILDING IN HIS HONOR.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Euless, Texas desires to recognize Harold
Samuels for 28 years of public service while serving as a member of the Euless City Council,
including as Mayor for 18 years; and
WHEREAS, born and raised in Waxahachie, this native Texan attended Arlington State
College and Southern Methodist University, where he refined the unique abilities and skills
necessary for his future success in the business and public service arenas; and
WHEREAS, he and his wife, Tommie, and their three children, Warren, Scott, and
Carole, moved to Euless in 1964; and
WHEREAS, while serving as Mayor, he participated in such worthy organizations as the
Mayor's Council of Tarrant County, the Hurst-Euless-Bedford Chamber of Commerce, the
Northeast Leadership Forum, the Illuminating Engineering Society, the board of directors of the
Atlas Match Company, and the First Baptist Church of Euless; and
WHEREAS, throughout his tenure as a public official, Mayor Samuels has maintained an
exceptional record of service; motivated by his strong sense of loyalty, his personal obligation to
his fellow citizens, and a sincere desire to continually improve his community, this remarkable
gentleman has left an indelible mark on the community he has so faithfully served;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EULESS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1.
The City Council of the City of Euless wish to recognize and honor Harold Samuels for
his many years of volunteer service in and to the City by dedication of the Harold Samuels
Finance Building.
SECTION 2.
This Resolution shall become effective immediately from and after its passage, as the
law and charter in such cases provide.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Euless City Council on the 25th day of
March 2014, by a vote of 7 ayes,°nays, and 0 abstention.
