Chairman Mike McGehee called the meeting to order at 7:00p.m.
DISPOSITION OF THE MINUTES: Chairman Mike McGehee asked for a motion to be made to accept the
minutes of the January 2, 2014 meeting. Marcia Brown made the motion to accept the minutes and Barney
Snitz seconded the motion.
WELCOME VISITORS: Chairman Mike McGehee welcomed all of the visitors to the meeting.
REPORT FROM THE LIBRARY ADMINISTRATOR:
Stats continue to look good.
Sherry commented on the after school programs for teens and elementary age children. They are popular and
attendance is growing each week.
Sherry commented that we are partnering with the Science Engineering Education Center this summer. They
offer educational kits at no cost upon request. The first kit is "Optics."
The library will be open during Arbor Daze this year. We have activities planned and we want to take the
opportunity to show case what we have to offer to our patrons.
Les Elgart Orchestra will be performing on Monday, February 10th in the Meeting Room. This program is part
of the Masterworks with the Arts Council Northeast.
Upcoming Masterworks performances:
• The Killdares (Celtic Music) Monday, March 10th—7pm at Bear Creek Amphitheater
• Bearclaw Singers and Native American Dancers, Monday April 14th at 7pm in the Meeting Room
• Vocal Trash, Thursday, May 29th at 6:30pm at the Bear Creek Amphitheater

Storybook Kits available for checkout (backpack filled with everything you would need to do a
storytime)
Blu-Ray DVD's
Children Audio Books (children can listen and tell what the story is about)
Slatwall Displays have been ordered
Self-check has been moved to the catalog area of the library
Mid-Cities Genealogy Society has given the library a$1000.00 check in appreciation for the space and support
the library has offered them. This is the 35th Anniversary for Mid-Cities Genealogy Society.
ELECTION OF LIBRARY BOARD OFFICERS
1. Barney Snitz nominated Mike McGehee as Chairman of the Library Board; Christopher McAllister
seconded the motion. Nomination was unanimously accepted by the Library Board members.
2. Chris McAllister nominated Barney Snitz as Vice-Chairman of the Library Board; Marcia Brown
seconded the motion. Nomination was unanimously accepted by the Library Board members.
ELECTION OF REPRESENTATIVE TO EULESS LIBRARY FOUNDATION
1. Allan Gibbs nominated Chris McAllister as Library Board representative to the Euless Library
Foundation. Mike McGehee seconded the nomination. Nomination was unanimously accepted by the
Library Board members.
2. Marcia Brown nominated Loretta Doty as Library Board representative to the Euless Library
Foundation. Mike McGehee seconded the nomination. Nomination was unanimously accepted by the
Library Board members.
DISCUSSIONS
1. Mike McGehee inquired about the after school children in the library
2. Allan Gibbs inquired about homeless in the library and our guidelines/policies
CITIZEN AND VISITOR COMMENTS:
1. Dale Harwell thanked the board and visitors for coming out in the weather to be at the meeting
2. Councilman Hogg commented on the street lights, construction of new homes in Euless, and on the
opening of Chop House Burgers.
ADJOURNMENT:
The Chairman asked for a motion to adjourn. The motion was made by Allan Gibbs and seconded by Marcia
Brown. The meeting was adjourned at 7:55 p.m.
