Chairman Mike McGehee called the meeting to order at 7:00p.m.
DISPOSITION OF THE MINUTES: Chairman Mike McGehee asked for a motion to be made to accept the
minutes of the February 6, 2014 meeting. Allan Gibbs made the motion to accept the minutes and Barney Snitz
seconded the motion.
WELCOME VISITORS: Chairman Mike McGehee welcomed all of the visitors to the meeting.
REPORT FROM THE LIBRARY ADMINISTRATOR:
Stats continue to look good.
The library will be open during Arbor Daze this year. We have activities planned and we want to take the
opportunity to show case what we have to offer to our patrons. We also have activities planned, games and
library promotional items as prizes, book trail, crafts for adults and youth and many other activities. Contact
Karan if you would like to volunteer.
Sherry reported that preliminary talks on the future needs of the library and the possibility of hiring a
consultant.
Sherry reports the city will be hosting a reception for Mayor Saleh at the library on Friday, May 16th
Upcoming Masterworks performances:
• The Killdares, Monday March 10th at 7pm at the Bear Creek Amphitheater
• Bearclaw Singers and Native American Dancers, Monday April 14th at 7pm in the Meeting Room
• Vocal Trash, Thursday, May 29th at 6:30pm at the Bear Creek Amphitheater
Sherry reports that the library has applied for 3 Impact Grants from the Texas State Library and Archives
Commission to fund the Preschool iPad Immersion program, a Mobile App, and job search assistance. Grant
recipients will be notified in August 2014.
Sherry passed around a thank you card from Betty Fuller for her plaque and a congratulation card from Linda
Eilenfeldt to the library for receiving the Achievement of Library Excellence Award.

DISCUSSIONS
1. Mike McGehee commented on how much the board appreciated Leon Hogg supporting the library and
attending our board meetings.
2. Allan Gibbs reported that ELF and The Friends of the Library would have a"Books For Troops"tent at
Arbor Daze.
3. Barney Snitz commented on the Aquarium, art displays and the display cases.
4. Marcia Brown commented on the Volunteer Dinner.
CITIZEN AND VISITOR COMMENTS:
1. Councilman Leon Hogg commented on the upcoming city elections and the amphitheater.
2. LuAnn Portugal commented on Glade Parks and the upcoming city elections.
ADJOURNMENT:
The Chairman asked for a motion to adjourn. The motion was made by Marcia Brown and seconded by Barney
Snitz. The meeting was adjourned at 7:55 p.m.
