A RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING AWARD OF A CONTRACT
FOR THE 39TH YEAR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK
GRANT (CDBG) PROJECT NO. B13-UC-48-0001-22-30 TO
RELIABLE PAVING, INC., ARLINGTON, TEXAS IN THE
AMOUNT OF $265,598.00 FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF
SIDEWALK ACCESSIBILITY RAMPS IN EULESS, TEXAS.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Euless, Texas does hereby
recommend the award of a contract for the 39th Year CDBG Project No. B13-UC-
48-0001-22-30 to Reliable Paving, Inc., Arlington, Texas in the amount of
$265,598.00 for the replacement of sidewalk accessibility ramps in Euless,
Texas; and
WHEREAS, the 39th Year CDBG Project No. B13-UC-48-0001-22-30
consists of the replacement of approximately 86 sidewalk accessibility ramps
along Midway Drive, Lamar Drive, Parker Drive, Rusk Drive, Hollywood
Boulevard, Martha Drive, Broadway Avenue, Fayette Drive, Main Street, Fair
Oaks Boulevard, and Ector Drive; and
WHEREAS, the construction funds available through Tarrant County for
this project are $405,270.50; and
WHEREAS, Staff has reviewed the bid tabulation and based on
supporting documentation from Teague Nall and Perkins, Inc. (Exhibit "A"),
recommends that Tarrant County award the contract to the low bidder, Reliable
Paving, Inc., Arlington, Texas;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1.
The City of Euless, Texas City Council recommends award of a contract to
Reliable Paving, Inc., Arlington, Texas for the replacement of approximately 86
sidewalk accessibility ramps along Midway Drive, Lamar Drive, Parker Drive,
Rusk Drive, Hollywood Boulevard, Martha Drive, Broadway Avenue, Fayette
Drive, Main Street, Fair Oaks Boulevard, and Ector Drive in the amount of
$265,598.00 of which Tarrant County Community Development will pay the full
amount
SECTION 2.
This Resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage in
accordance with the Charter of the City of Euless and upon publication, and it is
accordingly so resolved.
APPROVED at a regular meeting of the Euless City Council on the 13th
day of May 2014 by a vote of 6 ayes, 0 nays, and 0 abstentions.

Recommendation for Award
Dear Allen,
The bid opening for the 39th Year CDBG project was held at the offices of Tarrant County Community
Development on Wednesday,April 16,2014. The subject project involves construction of 86 sidewalk
ramps throughout the city. One formal bid was received and is provided in the attached bid tabulation.
The low bid for the reconstruction project is $265,598.00 as submitted by Reliable Paving. The
engineering estimate for the project was$326,000.00. The 39th Year CDBG construction funds along
with carry over funds from 3h Year amount to$405,270.50.
Based on experience with this contractor on projects of similar scope and size,we recommend that the
City of Euless recommend award of the contract for construction of the Citywide Accessibility Ramps
project to Reliable Paving for the Base Bid Total of$265,598.00.
