Chairman Mike McGehee called the meeting to order at 7:00p.m.
DISPOSITION OF THE MINUTES: Chairman Mike McGehee asked for a motion to be made to accept the
minutes of the February 6, 2014 meeting. Allan Gibbs made the motion to accept the minutes and Barney Snitz
seconded the motion.
WELCOME VISITORS: Chairman Mike McGehee welcomed LuAnn Portugal to the meeting.
REPORT FROM THE LIBRARY ADMINISTRATOR:
Stats continue to look good.
Sherry reported on the e-reader pilot program and the i-pad Kiosk. Sherry also reported that she had won a nook
at PLANT and donated it to the library and is now available for patrons to check out.
Sherry commented on the Euless Public Library Facebook page and we will be utilizing this for marketing
library events.
Edible Books judging will be on Tuesday, April 15 at 4:00 pm. This will be the first year that the event is open
to all city staff.
The library will be open during Arbor Daze this year. We have activities planned and we want to take the
opportunity to show case what we have to offer to our patrons. We also have activities planned, games and
library promotional items as prizes, book trail, crafts for adults and youth and many other activities. Contact
Karan if you would like to volunteer.
Sherry reports the city will be hosting a reception for Mayor Saleh at the library on Friday, May 16th
Upcoming Masterworks performances:
• Bearclaw Singers and Native American Dancers, Monday April 14th at 7pm in the Meeting Room
• Vocal Trash, Thursday, May 29th at 6:30pm at the Bear Creek Amphitheater
Sherry reports that the library has applied for 3 Impact Grants from the Texas State Library and Archives
Commission to fund the Preschool iPad Immersion program, a Mobile App, and job search assistance. Grant
recipients will be notified in August 2014.

We had 65 in attendance on March 11th for the Teen Volunteer and Job Fair. Local businesses were invited to
come and talk with the teens.
The library will be closed on Friday, April 18th for Spring Holiday and on April 20th for Easter.

1. Mike McGehee commented on the City Council meeting honoring Mayor Saleh and Councilman Hogg.
2. Barney Snitz commented on the performance by The Killdares
3. Allan Gibbs commented on the schedule for Arbor Daze
4. Jason Reyes also commented on the performance by The Killdares
CITIZEN AND VISITOR COMMENTS:
1. LuAnn Portugal commented on the library displays and the performance by The Killdares.
ADJOURNMENT:
The Chairman asked for a motion to adjourn. The motion was made by Barney Snitz and seconded by Allan
Gibbs. The meeting was adjourned at 7:55 p.m.
