HomeMy WebLinkAbout1956-07-07Regular Meeting Euless City Council J u l y 7, 1956 Present were Mayor Jimmy Payton; Councilmen Luther Anders, Lucuis Anders, and J. S. Anderson. Also present were City Secretary Thos. A. Kennard, City Attorney George Gleeson, and City Marshal E. V. Anderson. The Council discussed with INr. Gleeson the advisability of securing the services of a qualified party to act as electrical, plumbing and general inspector of building. No action was taken. Ordinance No. 54, Municipal Construction and Maintenance agreement with the State of Texas, was adopted unanimously upon a motion by Luther Anders and seconded by Councilman Anderson. The same being filed in Office of City Secretary. A motion by Councilman Anderson and seconded by Councilman Lucius Anders, that the city provide police bonds in the amounts of $1,000.00 for its City Marshal and Deputy City Marshal, was adopted by unanimous vote. A final motion by Luther Anders and seconded by Councilman Anderson delegated Mayor Payton the obligation of making arrangements for the police bonds. It also was unanimously adopted. The City Marshal was concerned about a stamp supply and other incidentals necessary in the pursuit of his duties. The City Secretary was instructed to ascertain the cost of law books requested by Mr. Gray, and as to where such books could be purchased. A I I copies of Ordinance No. 54 were to be properly executed and returned to Mr. Gleeson at the earliest convenience, as requested by Mr. Gleeson. The request was complied with on Monday, J u l y 9, 1956. ATTEST: /s/ Thos. A. It was a temporary arrangement under- stood and agreed t o by a l l members of the Council. Present were Mayor Jimmy Payton; Councilmen Luther Anders, Lucuis Anders, and J. S. Anderson.
