A RESOLUTION APPOINTING JUDGES, ALTERNATE
JUDGES, AND EARLY VOTING BALLOT BOARD JUDGE
FOR A JOINT ELECTION TO BE HELD BY THE CITY OF
EULESS AND THE HURST - EULESS- BEDFORD
INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT ON MAY 15, 2004
WHEREAS, the City of Euless and the Hurst - Euless- Bedford Independent School District
have resolved to conduct joint elections pursuant to the provisions of the Texas Election
Code, and
WHEREAS, the laws of the State of Texas and the Charter of the City of Euless, provide
that on May 15, 2004, there shall be elected the following officials for the City:
Council Member Place One, for a three -year term
Council Member Place Three, for a three -year term
and the following members of the School District Board of Trustees:
Trustee Member, Place Three
Trustee Member, Place Four
Trustee Member, Place Five
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EULESS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1
Voting on Election Day, May 15, 2004, shall be conducted at two polling places, Bear
Creek Elementary School, 401 Bear Creek Drive, Euless, Texas, and the City of Euless
Public Library, 201 N. Ector Drive, Euless, Texas, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00
p.m.
SECTION 2
The following named persons are hereby appointed officers for said elections:
Euless Public Library: Election Judge Barbara Girouard
Alternate Richard Girouard
Bear Creek Elementary School: Election Judge Timothy Mitchell
Alternate Judge Linda Wythe
Early Voting Ballot Board: Election Judge Martha Burleson
The Early Voting Ballot Board Judge shall appoint two qualified election clerks to serve and
assist in conducting the duties of the Early Voting Ballot Board.
The Presiding Election Judge for each precinct shall appoint not less than two nor more
than ten qualified election clerks to serve and assist in conducting said election; provided,
that if the Presiding Judge actually serves as expected, the Alternate Presiding Judge shall
serve as one of the clerks. All appointments shall be in accordance with the terms and
provisions of the Texas Election Code. Election judges shall be compensated for services
rendered at a precinct polling place at an hourly rate of $8 per hour, and election clerks
shall be compensated for services rendered at an hourly rate of $7.50 per hour.
ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Euless City Council on the 27th day of April, 2004,
by a vote of 7 ayes, 0 nays, and 0 abstentions.
