Regular Meeting
Euless City Council
August 11, 1956
The City Council of Euless, Texas met
in regular session on August 11, 1956, at 3:00 p.m.
Present were Mayor Pro Tern Ernest
Millican, Jr., Councilmen Lucius Anders, Luther Anders, W. H. Fuller, and
City Secretary Thos. A. Kennard.
A l l minutes of previous meetings not
approved, were read and approved.
On a motion by Councilman Luther Anders,
seconded by Councilman Fuller, the Kate Scott tract presented in Ordinance
No. 55, for annexation to the City of Euless, Texas, was unanimously
approved, the same being filed in Office of City Secretary.
A second motion by Councilman Lucius
Anders, seconded by Councilman Fuller was to the effect that the City
Council pay T. A. Kennard $20.00 (twenty dollars) for work done by him in
securing a m a i l i n g I i s t and preparing and mailing 400 odd letters to the
citizens of Euless and vicinity and special letters of a more personal
nature to the utility companies serving Euless, as well as other industry
in our vicinity. (The purpose of the letters was to secure money
through contributions to apply on the note on the fire hall and community
center.) The motion was unanimously approved.
The City Secretary was instructed to:
1. Write Mr. Gleeson again, inquiring about getting the city limits
s i g n at the east side of town moved to the present c i t y l i m i t
boundary .
2. Communicate with Mr. Earl Harrison about the open sewer behind
Phillips 66 Service Station in the City of Euless, informing him
there has been some oral complaints, and requesting him to take care
of the situation. (These request letters were mailed the same day
requests were made.)
No further business coming before the
Council, the meeting was adjourned at 4:10 p.m.
