RESOLUTION DECLARING A PUBLIC PURPOSE FOR THE
ACQUISITION OF PROPERTY REQUIRED FOR THE
DEVELOPMENT AND CONSTRUCTION OF A PARK LOCATED
BETWEEN NORTH MAIN STREET AND FULLER -WISER
ROAD, SOUTH OF THE MCCORMICK FARM SUBDIVISION
AND NORTH OF THORN WOOD DRIVE AND AUTHORIZING
THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF EULESS TO TAKE SUCH
ACTIONS AS ARE NECESSARY TO ACQUIRE SUCH
PROPERTY
WHEREAS, the City of Euless has designed and desires to construct a park, to be
known as The Preserve at McCormick Park, located between North Main Street and Fuller -
Wiser Road south of McCormick Farm subdivision and north of Thorn Wood Drive;
WHEREAS, the City of Euless has identified 28.83 acres of real estate as needed for the
development and construction; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Euless finds that a public necessity exists for
the acquisition of the aforesaid parcels of real estate, and that said parcels when taken, shall be
put to a public use for the benefit of the community at large;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EULESS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION I
There is a public necessity declared for the acquisition by the City of Euless for the tracts of land
situated in the B. F. Crowley Survey A -320, and identified as a 22.43 acre tract, being the
remainder of a 40.247 acre tract of land described in the deed recorded in Volume 14769, Page
146, and a 6.40 acre tract of land being the northern portion of that 17.458 acre tract of land
described as Tract #1 in the deed from Charles M. Hunt, etux Ruth L. Hunt, to Terry Sandlin
Homes and recorded in Volume 14832, Page 45, of the Tarrant County Deeds.
SECTION II
The Mayor or her designee is authorized to take all actions necessary and to execute all
necessary documents to acquire the property.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Euless, Texas, and
effective, on this 22nd day of June, 2004, by a vote of 7 ayes 0 nays, and 0
abstentions.
