HomeMy WebLinkAbout05-1196 02-08-2005RESOLUTION NO. 05 -1196 RESOLUTION DEDICATING THE PRESERVE AT MCCORMICK PARK AS OPEN SPACE. WHEREAS, the City of Euless recognizes the protection of natural habitat protection; and WHEREAS, the City of Euless supports the value of preserving the Bear Creek corridor for the enjoyment of the public as a passive recreation area; and WHEREAS, The Preserve at McCormick Park is an important addition to the City's Park System; and WHEREAS, The Preserve at McCormick Park plays an important role in the education of youth in nature and provides a place for neighborhood and community gatherings; and WHEREAS, The Preserve at McCormick Park provides an important link in the City's hike and bike trail system by connecting McCormick Park with Bob Eden Park and Villages of Bear Creek; and WHEREAS, the City has joined the Hurst - Euless- Bedford Independent School District (HEB ISD) in the planning for and programming of The Preserve at McCormick Park as a place for education and recreational uses. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS: SECTION 1 THAT the property contained in The Preserve at McCormick Park acquired through a grant from the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department, is hereby designated as Open Space. The City dedicates that this property will remain as Open Space in the Euless Park System in perpetuity. PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Euless, Tarrant County, Texas, on this the 8th day of February, 2005, by a vote of 7 ayes, 0 nays, and 0 abstentions.
