A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT WITH
TARRANT COUNTY TO FURNISH ELECTION SERVICES
AND EQUIPMENT FOR THE GENERAL ELECTION FOR
OFFICES OF MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS,
PLACE TWO AND PLACE FOUR, FOR THE ELECTION
TO BE HELD ON MAY 7, 2005.
WHEREAS, the regular election for the City Council of the City of Euless as set
forth by the Charter and by the Texas Election Code was previously ordered by
Resolution No. 05 -1191 to be held on May 7, 2005, at which time the voters will elect
persons to fill the offices of Mayor, City Council Place 2 and City Council Place 4; and
WHEREAS, the Euless City Council has determined that a contract with Tarrant
County Elections Administration for election services is in the best interest of the City of
Euless;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF EULESS, TEXAS, THAT:
Section 1: The City Secretary is hereby authorized to contract with the Tarrant
County Elections Administrator for the purpose of having Tarrant County
furnish all or any portion of the election services and equipment needed by
the City Secretary to conduct the election. The contract document and
election services provided therein shall conform to Chapter 31,
Subchapter D, of the Texas Election Code and other applicable statutes
and laws.
Section 2: The election services contract shall provide (a) the type of electronic
voting equipment to be used for early voting by personal appearance and
on election day, (b) notification and training for election judges and clerks,
(c) an estimate and final payment terms for the election services provided,
(d) agreements for early voting equipment and voting machine rental, and
(e) other procedures to conduct the election.
Section 3: The election shall be conducted pursuant to joint election agreement with
the Hurst - Euless- Bedford Independent School District. Combined ballots
may be utilized containing all of the offices and propositions to be voted on
at each polling place, provided that no voter shall be given a ballot or
permitted to vote for any office or proposition on which the voter is
ineligible to vote. Returns may be made on forms, which are individual or
combined, and the City Secretary of the City of Euless shall be designated
as the custodian of the combined records. Said joint elections shall be
conducted in accordance with Chapter 271 of the Texas Election Code.
Section 4: All qualified voters of the City of Euless shall be qualified to vote in said
election. The Euless Public Library, 201 North Ector Drive, Euless, Texas,
and the Bear Creek Elementary School, 401 Bear Creek Drive, Euless,
Texas, are hereby designated as polling places on election day.
Section 5: Early voting by personal appearance shall be conducted at the Euless
Public Library, 201 North Ector Drive, Euless, Texas, on the following
dates and times:
Wednesday — Friday, April 20 — 22"d, 2005
Monday — Friday, April 25 — 29th, 2005
Saturday, April 30th, 2005
Monday — Tuesday, May 2 -3rd, 2005
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
8:00 a.m. — 5:00 p.m.
9:00 a.m. — 5:00 p.m.
8:00 a.m. — 5:00 p.m.
Additional extended hours for early voting in person will be available at
Tarrant County Early Voting Office, 600 West Weatherford Street, Fort
Worth, Texas 76196:

Robert Parten, Tarrant County Elections Administrator, shall serve as the
Early Voting Clerk, and Susan Crim, City Secretary, shall serve as Deputy
Early Voting Clerk. Additional deputy clerks may be appointed by the
Early Voting Clerk.
Section 6: Applications for mail ballots shall be mailed to Robert Parten, Early Voting
Clerk, 100 West Weatherford, Room B -90, P. O. Box 961011, Fort Worth,
Texas, 76161 -0011, and shall be processed by the Early Voting Clerk.
Mail ballots shall be mailed to Robert Parten, Early Voting Clerk, 100 West
Weatherford, Room B -90, P. O. Box 961011, Fort Worth, Texas, 76161-
0011.
Section 7: The Early Voting Ballot Board Judge shall be Jeanne Lyons. Additional
personnel shall be appointed by the Ballot Board Judge, and the Euless
City Council may appoint one or more clerks to the Early Voting Ballot
Board.
Section 8: Robert Parten, Tarrant County Elections Administrator, shall serve as the
manager of the central counting station, located at 600 West Weatherford
Street, Fort Worth, Texas, to receive and tabulate the results of early
voting by personal appearance and by mail and shall designate one or
more persons to assist with the functions of the central counting station.

ADOPTED AND APPROVED at a regular meeting of the Euless City Council on the
22nd day of March, 2005, by a vote of 7 ayes, 0 nays, and 0 abstentions.
