Dear Citizens,
It's another new
year and there
are a lot of great
things on the
horizon. First,
' please join us
for the Town
Hall meeting on January 20. It's a
great way to learn about upcoming
projects and programs and a great
place to ask questions or give
suggestions. I am looking forward
to seeing everyone in person, so
that we can talk about topics that
are important to you and discuss
our city's plans for 2022.
Of course, January is also a great
time for resolutions. If fitness is
a resolution of yours, here is an
excellent opportunity to start the
New Year off on the right foot.
The Euless Family Life Center is
offering a free Open House on
Saturday, January 29. This gives
you a chance to try out classes,
find instructors that you like,
check out the indoor pool and take
a complete tour of the facility. I
hope you'll mark your calendar to

The City of Euless has replaced Nixle with the more robust CodeRED system, a high-
speed emergency notification service.
You can get emergency alerts in real time by signing up with the CodeRED Emergency
Notification System. It sends alerts for weather warnings, traffic delays, missing
persons, criminal activities, mosquito control and local events. You choose how
you want to receive the notifications: by text, email, voice, web, social media or the
CodeRed Mobile App.
There are three ways to sign-up for CodeRED:
• Go to www.eulesstx.gov/CodeRed and click the "Sign Up" button at the
bottom of the page
• Install the CodeRed Mobile App on your cell phone
• Text the word "EULESS" to 99411 from your mobile phone
You will recognize the CodeRED call when your caller ID displays the following
numbers:
866-419-5000 Emergency Notifications
855-969-4636 General Notifications
800-566-9780 CodeRED Weather Warning Alerts
Please be sure to add these telephone numbers into your cell phone's contacts, when
applicable. Important Note: When answering a CodeRed call, you must say something
such as "Hello," for the call to play.

Water Line Replacements on Alexander and Dickey
Replacing aging water lines now is necessary to help avoid leaking pipes or water main breaks in the future.
The FY 2020-21 Capital Improvements Program (CIP) Budget includes line items for water line replacements
in these areas:
• East Alexander Lane from Cullum Dr. to Dickey Dr.
• Dickey Drive from East Alexander Ln. to Copher Ct.
Both locations have 60-year-old water lines and were chosen based on prior maintenance history. The City
Council awarded the project to A & B Construction, LLC. The project is scheduled to take place from December
through March 2022. Once completed, this project will reduce maintenance and improve water service to those
neighborhoods.
Every effort is made to minimize the impact to homeowners during construction, however, some temporary
inconveniences may occur as work takes place. Residents will be notified in advance before the work begins.
These improvements will utilize a process called Pipe Bursting. This method installs a new pipe inside of the
existing water main underground. The old pipe is broken up and the new pipe fills in the existing space. This
process requires minimal digging which reduces construction time and disruption to residents. Even though this
eliminates the need for open trench work, some digging will be required to tie into the owner's service line.
The Water Line Replacement Program is part of the Capital Improvements Program (CIP) budget. The CIP is
a comprehensive look at identified needs throughout the City. It is reviewed and updated each year to help the
Euless City Council prioritize immediate needs as well as long-term projects. There are five basic project types
within the CIP: drainage, streets, wastewater, water and other. This plan is a working blueprint for preserving and
improving Euless' infrastructure while ensuring efficient use of public dollars.
Wanted: Teen Court
Volunteers
The H.E.B. Teen Court is looking for adult and teen
volunteers. Volunteering for Teen Court is a great
way to serve your community. The minimum age
for teen volunteers is 13. Teens and adults work
together to provide defendants the opportunity to take
responsibility for their actions, while learning about the
justice system. Teen volunteers learn public speaking
skills, interviewing techniques and administrative
skills. Local attorneys and the Teen Court Coordinator
combine their time and talents to provide all teen
volunteers with thorough training.
Teen Court is a peer program that allows juvenile first
offenders with Class C misdemeanors an alternative in
the criminal justice system. Teen volunteers serve as
the attorneys, bailiffs and clerks, while adult volunteers
assist during court sessions as jury monitors and judges.
You are welcome to visit any Teen Court session to
observe and find out more about our program. If
interested, call the Teen Court office at 817-952-2468.
