A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE EULESS
TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS
PROPOSED TO BE INCLUDED FOR CONSIDERATION IN
THE 2006 TARRANT COUNTY TRANSPORTATION BOND
PROGRAM
WHEREAS, a transportation crisis exists in Tarrant County which threatens
mobility, economic development and the quality of life; and
WHEREAS, the population of the Dallas /Fort Worth region is expected to
increase to over 8 million people by 2030; and
WHEREAS, a significant portion of population growth will occur in Tarrant County
and the roadways are expected to reach unacceptable levels of service; and
WHEREAS, local municipal funds may not meet the growing need for
transportation improvements; and
WHEREAS, the Tarrant County Commissioners Court is considering a
transportation bond program; and
WHEREAS, Tarrant County will accept project submittals from municipalities to
be included for consideration in the 2006 Tarrant County Transportation Bond Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS:
SECTION 1
THAT the City of Euless hereby supports the Euless submission of the
transportation projects proposed for consideration in the 2006 Tarrant County
Transportation Bond Program.
SECTION 2
THAT these specific projects be included in the submission:
• Baze Road - Priest Lane to Glade Road
• Gateway Boulevard - Centurion Boulevard to Glade Road
• Ash Lane - Aransas Drive to Main Street
• Fuller -Wiser Connector at S.H. 360
• S. H. 10 Signal Timing Project — Loop 820 to S. H. 183, Hurst to
Euless
• Traffic Signal Upgrades
• South Pipeline Road Bridge over Post Oak Channel and
associated overlay
SECTION 3
EFFECTIVE DATE. This resolution shall become effective immediately from and
after its passage as provided by the Euless City Charter and the laws of the State of
Texas.
APPROVED at a regular meeting of the Euless City Council on the 16th day of
August, 2005, by a vote of 7 ayes, 0 nays, and 0 abstentions.
