Minutes
June 9, 2014
CALL TO ORDER
Chairman Bill Golden called the meeting to order at 10:02 a.m. The meeting was held at Euless
City Hall, 201 N. Ector Drive, Euless, TX.
MEMBERS PRESENT
Perry Brockmeyer, Doris Brown, Bill Byers, Weldon Cannon, Bill Golden,Norma Lively,
Marilyn Long, Don Martin, Gary Parker, Helen Payton, Faye Stinneford, Helen Voss and Andy
Weinzapfel.
RECOGNITION OF VISITORS

STAFF PRESENT
Suzanne Hendrickson, Recreation Manager
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Norma Lively made a motion to approve the minutes as written. The motion was seconded by
Don Martin, motion approved.
TREASURER"S REPORT
No report was given.
DOCENTS' REPORTS RECRUITMENT
A private tour was given to the Morrisdale Neighborhood Association on Wednesday, June 4,
2014. Approximately twenty people attended.
A sign-up sheet was passed around for open houses in June, July and August.
GUEST SPEAKER
Andy Weinzapfel gave a presentation about the recent artifact finding project at First United
Methodist Church—Euless. He suggested gaining permission to other sites around the City that
could be metal detected which could further enhance the museum.
CURRENT PROJECTS REPORT
a. Acquisitions—Bill Byers
A neighbor of Bill Byers has passed away and has a house full of antiques that they are
willing to give to the museum. Some of the items include: rocking chairs, dishes, china
cabinet, several old newspapers. Mr. Byers would like to take some other committee
members to go look at all the items. Also, Kendall Hogg donated an old Schwinn bike.
Mr. Byers also mentioned that the approval has been given for the design of the
blacksmith shop and they are getting close to start building.

f. Plaque—Faye Stinneford
The plaque for Iva Nail has been completed. We are currently waiting for names for the
big plaque. We would like to consider only updating the names quarterly to plaques to
reduce costs in updating plaques.
g. Display Signs—Mavy Wright

h. Library History\Genealogy Room—Bill Golden

i. Oral History\Photography—Gary Fieldsen

j. Evolving History—Michele Burger

k. Photo Album\Scrapbook Sub-committee—Marilyn Long
The scrapbook committee is planning to meet on Monday, August 11 at 10 a.m. at the
Museum. Betty Fuller has a Fuller Family Genealogy scrapbook that may be of interest to
the museum. Mr. Hogg will contact Mrs. Fuller and arrange for staff to copy and scan the
scrapbook for the Museum.
CHAIRMAN"S REPORT
Bill Golden reported on the following:
The Committee will not meet the next two months (July and August) for summer break.
The Guest Speakers for the next two meeting months have been scheduled:
September—Weldon Cannon will give a presentation on Tarrant.
October—Diana Crawford will give a presentation on the first historical committee.
A Fuller Burger café window has been acquired and will be hung in the Museum.
STAFF REPORT
Staff had no report.
COMMITTEE REPORTS/INPUT
Weldon Cannon mentioned he is taking a trip to Bedford County, Tennessee for a family
reunion.
He also mentioned that he has the historical document complete on"Tarrant" and will be ready
to give his presentation in September.
ADJOURNMENT
Gary Parker made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Andy Weinzapfel seconded the motion.
Motion approved.
The meeting adjourned at 11:17 a.m.
