Parks and Leisure Services Board
November 01, 2021
CALL TO ORDER
The regular meeting of the Parks and Leisure Services Board was called to order at 6:56 p.m.
Monday, November, 01, 2021, in the Council Chambers of the Euless City Hall building by Vice
Chairman Raab. Other Board Members present: Steve Doty,Jason Reyes, Roger Sickler, Kay Seger,
and Isha Sharma. Members absent: Chairman Randy Jones and Magen Brown.
Staff members present: Director of Parks and Community Services Ray McDonald, Parks Manager
Daniel Dearborn, Park Superintendent Ryan Turner, Recreation Superintendent Elizabeth Johnson,
and Administrative Secretary Jodie Dunn.
Visitors present: None
INVOCATION
Roger Sickler gave the invocation.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Vice Chairman Raab asked if there were any additions or corrections to the minutes from the
October 04, 2021 regular meeting. Roger Sickler made the motion to approve the minutes as
presented and was seconded by Jason Reyes. The vote was unanimous.
I. Board Member Reports
a. Magen Brown—Heritage &S. Euless: Not present.
b. Steve Doty—J.A. Carr& Kiddy Carr: No items to report.
c. John Raab—Midway & Blessing Branch: No items to report.
d. Roger Sickler—Preserve& McCormick: No items to report.
e. Jason Reyes—West Park&Wilshire: No items to report.
f. Kay Seger—Reflection &Villages of Bear Creek: No items to report.
g. Isha Sharma—Bob Eden &Trailwood: No items to report.
h. Chairman Jones—Parks at Texas Star: Not present.
i. Vice Chairman Raab reported on the following Special Events:
• November 20, 2021, The Great Fall Scavenger Hunt. This event will take place on
the Trail System starting at 8:00 a.m.

• December 04, 2021, Parade of Lights. This event will take place on West Midway
Drive.
IV. Business of the Tree Board
Tree Board Chairman Jason Reyes reported the following for (October 1st-31st):
a. Total man hours for October 1st-31st= 338
• 191 Horticulture
• 86 Forestry
• 25 Greenhouse
• 0 Special Projects
• 36 Training
➢ Removed tree stumps at McCormick Park and on Greenbelt
➢ Trimmed trees at Westpark, Midway Park and Bob Eden Park
➢ Trimmed trees on W. Pipeline Rd. and Raider Dr.
➢ Removed dead tree on North Main St. median
➢ Stepped up trees at greenhouse
➢ Planted color beds
➢ Seeded Dog Park
➢ Planted the Euless berm
➢ Matt and Derrick became Work Zone Traffic Control certified.
V. Parks and Community Services Reports
a. Recreation Report—Elizabeth Johnson
• Elizabeth Johnson reported on the Halloween Event at the Senior Center.
• Elizabeth Johnson reported on Howl-O-Ween Event at the Euless Dog Park.
• Elizabeth Johnson gave report on Trunk or Treat.
• Elizabeth Johnson reported that the staff is gearing up for the Parade of Lights and
the Christmas Event at Heritage Park.
b. Parks Report—Ray McDonald
• Ryan Turner reported that the Parks department gave away trees at the Trunk or
Treat Event.
• Ryan Turner reported that the Parks department changed out the color beds.
Vice Chairman Raab thanked the staff for their reports.
