Vice-Chairman Barney Snitz called the meeting to order at 7:00p.m.
DISPOSITION OF THE MINUTES: Vice-Chairman Barney Snitz asked for a motion to be made to accept
the minutes of the June 5, 2014 meeting. Allan Gibbs made the motion to accept the minutes and Loretta Doty
seconded the motion.
WELCOME VISITORS: Vice-Chairman Barney Snitz welcomed visitors LuAnn Portugal, Mary Lib Saleh
and Councilman Jeremy Tompkins to the meeting.
REPORT FROM THE LIBRARY ADMINISTRATOR:
Stats continue to look good.
Update on e-books and digital resources:
We have a total of 1270 e-books and circulation was 798 per month. We offer 44 magazines through
Zino with a circulation of 150-250 per month.
Update on SRC:
Total registered for SRC 1445
Youth: K-2nd had 469 registered and they read 14,261 books
3`d-6t" grade had 319 registered and they read 304,724 minutes
Teens registered 124 and they read 181,427 pages
We offered 109 events and programs with 5573 attending the programs
Adult: 533 registered for the SRC and read a total of 1826 books
Update of future library events:
Youth is planning fall and after school programming that will include Science Slam, Art Attacks,
Legomania, Techno Time, and Game-a-rama.
Adult Referenceis planning monthly events including music, crafts, Money Smart through FDIC, Adult
Spelling Bee to encourage literacy, and geocaching events.

MASTERWORKS:
Les Elgart Orchestra was a huge success with almost 200 in attendance. Many requests to have him
return next year.
Next Event is on Monday, September 8th with Bone Doggie at 7:00pm in the Meeting Room.
DISCUSSIONS
1. Barney Snitz reported how much he enjoyed Les Elgart Orchestra.
2. Barney Snitz reported that the ELF Annual Meeting is September 25th in the Meeting Room. The
tile artist, Lisa McNamarra, will be the guest speaker.
3. Barney Snitz reminded everyone the Friends of the Library Fall Booksale will be September 12, 13
and 14 in the Meeting Room.
4. Allan Gibbs asked for help with the Books for Troops project.
5. Marcia Brown reported that the Texas Retired School Employees group handed out books for
students.
6. Carol Kveck reported on the Youth activities during SRC.
CITIZEN AND VISITOR COMMENTS:
1. Mary Lib Saleh commented on the opening of the Gene A. Buinger Career and Technical Education
Academy
2. Councilman Jeremy Tompkins commented on the Les Elgart Orchestra program
ADJOURNMENT:
The Chairman asked for a motion to adjourn. The motion was made by Marcia Brown and seconded by Allan
Gibbs. The meeting was adjourned at 7:45 p.m.
