Called Meeting
Euless City Council
January 26, 1957
A special meeting of the City Council was
called by Mayor Payton for January 26, 1957, at 7:30 p.m.
Present were Mayor Jimmy Payton, Councilmen
Luther Anders, Lucius Anders, J. S. Anderson, W. H. Fuller, and Ernest
Millican, Jr. Also present was City Secretary T. A. Kennard.
Meeting with the Council at the request
of the Mayor were Recorder Gray and Deputy City Marshal Earl Stapleton.
Cn a second motion by Councilman Luther
Anders, seconded by Councilman Millican, the Council again unanimously approved
and adopted Ordinance No. 61, an ordinance regulating traffic, the same being
filed in the Office of City Secretary.
After some discussion with the Council, the
recorder promised to furnish those concerned with a list of fines for traffic
violations in line with those in use by other cities around us.
Councilman Lucius Anders requested that he
and the City Marshal be permitted to go to the County and secure a I I the
necessary traffic signs and posts available and bring them to Euless. The
Council favored this courtesy.
Councilman Anderson and the City Secretary
were requested to make inquiry at Grand Prairie as to the cost of city limits
and other such signs as the County would not have and return the information
to the Council.
The City Secretary was instructed to write
Mr. Gleeson and the Texas Department of Public Safety regarding the necessary
forms needed in connection with traffic violations and motor vehicle accidents.
The meeting adjourned at 8:15 p.m.

creating a Police Department for the
City of
Euless,
the same being
filed in Office
of City Secretary. On page five of
this ordinance,
Article
16, the amount
a special policeman is
to receive
per day
for each day in
actual service
shall not exceed $10.00
(ten dollars).
