A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS,
AUTHORIZING THE POLICE CHIEF AS THE AUTHORIZED OFFICIAL TO
APPLY FOR, ACCEPT, REJECT, OR ALTER THE FISCAL YEAR 2015
GRANT FROM THE OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR, TEXAS, CRIMINAL
JUSTICE DIVISION, TO FUND THE PURCHASE AND IMPLEMENTATION OF
A LIVE SCAN MACHINE FOR THE CITY OF EULESS POLICE DEPARTMENT.
WHEREAS, the City of Euless City Council finds it in the best interest of the citizens of
the City of Euless that the Live Scan Machine be funded for Fiscal Year 2015; and
WHEREAS, the City of Euless City Council agrees to provide applicable matching funds
for the said project as required by the Justice Assistance Grant application; and
WHEREAS, the City of Euless City Council agrees that in the event of loss or misuse of
the Criminal Justice Division funds, the City of Euless City Council assures that the funds will
be returned to the Criminal Justice Division in full; and
WHEREAS, the City of Euless City Council designates Police Chief Mike Brown as the
grantee's authorized official. The authorized official is given the power to apply for, accept,
reject, alter or terminate the grant on behalf of the applicant agency.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EULESS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1.
The City Council authorizes Police Chief Mike Brown to submit an application to apply
for, accept, reject, or alter, to the Office of the Governor, Texas Criminal Justice Division in
accordance with the terms and conditions thereof for a Justice Assistance Grant (Grant
Number 2836401) and accept funds in the amount of$35,000 for the Live Scan machine.
SECTION 2.
This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage.
PASSED AND APPROVED at a regular meeting of the Euless City Council of the City of
Euless. Texas, on the 14th day of October 2014 by a vote of _ 6 ayes, 0 nays, and
0 abstentions.
