Vice-Chairman Barney Snitz called the meeting to order at 7:00p.m.
DISPOSITION OF THE MINUTES: Vice-Chairman Barney Snitz asked for a motion to be made to accept
the minutes of the September 4, 2014 meeting. Loretta Doty made the motion to accept the minutes and Marcia
Brown seconded the motion.
WELCOME VISITORS: Vice-Chairman Barney Snitz welcomed the visitors to the meeting.
REPORT FROM THE LIBRARY ADMINISTRATOR:
Sherry Knight introduced Donna Gooch, Adult Reference Librarian, to the board. Donna shared her job
responsibilities with the board and gave a demonstration of our new digital magazines on Flipster.
Stats continue to look good with increase in the digital check outs.
The drive-up window service has expanded. You can now drop off and pick up materials, renew your items and
pay fines.
Upcoming library events:
• John Dosher Band on Monday, October 6, 2014 at 7:00pm in the Meeting Room
• Money Smart Series every Tuesday evening in October at 7:00pm in the Board Room
• Get Organized on October 7, 2014 at 11:00am in the Meeting Room
• Mid Cities Genealogy Society DNA Workshop on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 9:00am
• Book A Librarian Service for patrons to reserve a free 30 minute session with a Reference
Librarian to get personalized help.
• 2015 Camaro Pace Car will be here on October 9th at 4:30pm with a representative from the
Texas Motor Speedway to answer your automotive questions.
• Speed Reading Classes at 4:00pm starting October 6th for 3rd through 6th grades
• Youth Librarians will be participating with the Fire Department Open House on October 4th
The Bubble, the new teen room, has been very popular. We have had 82 teens so far this month to use the room
after school.

DISCUSSIONS
1. Barney Snitz commented on the Masterworks program Bone Doggie.
2. Jason Reyes reported that he work Crud Day and 130 cars brought items for recycle.
CITIZEN AND VISITOR COMMENTS:
1. Mary Lib Saleh commented on the Police Department and Fire Department Open House, Stars Over
Euless and ribbon cutting for North Tarrant Express all happen on Saturday, October 4, 2014.
2. Mary Lib Saleh commented on the Empowering Seniors at Campus West on Friday, October 3, 2014
at 8:00 am.
3. LuAnn Portugal commented on the opening of Potbelly.
4. Leon Hogg commented on Betty Fuller.
ADJOURNMENT:
The Vice-Chairman asked for a motion to adjourn. The motion was made by Marcia Brown and seconded by
Loretta Doty. The meeting was adjourned at 7:45 p.m.
