Chairman Mike McGehee called the meeting to order at 7:00p.m.
DISPOSITION OF THE MINUTES: Chairman Mike McGehee asked for a motion to be made to accept the
minutes of the November 6, 2014 meeting. Allan Gibbs made the motion to accept the minutes and Loretta
Doty seconded the motion.
WELCOME VISITORS: Chairman Mike McGehee welcomed the visitors to the meeting.
REPORT FROM THE LIBRARY ADMINISTRATOR:
Sherry Knight introduced Becky Moren, Library Technical Specialist and System Administrator for Polaris, to
the board. Becky grew up in Euless and is married with three children and two grandchildren. Becky shared
her job responsibilities that includes maintaining all computers in the library, the inventory tablets and reporting
of all computer statistics. Becky gave a demonstration of LEAP and reported on the Library Documentation
Station that will be installed soon.
Sherry commented on Stats.
Food for Fines was very successful. We collected 917 cans of food, 145 packages of toilet paper, and 25 cases
of water. The proceeds were divided with 6 Stones and First United Methodist Church of Euless food pantry.
LIBRARY EVENTS: Parade of Lights on Saturday, December 6th at 6:30pm, Flutasia on Monday, December
8th at 7pm in front of Blooms of Enlightenment, and Election Day is Tuesday, December 9th from lam to 7pm.
City of Euless Employee Christmas Luncheon is on Friday, December 12th at the Senior Center. The library
will be closed from 11:00am until 2:30pm.
Library Holiday Hours: Tuesday, December 23 the library will close at 6:00pm. The library will be closed on
Wednesday, December 24th and Thursday, December 25th. We will be closed on New Year's Day, Thursday,
January 1st.
STAFF UPDATE: Ellen Collins in the Reference Department has resigned effective December 30, 2014.

DISCUSSIONS:
1. Barney Snitz commented on the 2015 library calendars.
2. Allan Gibbs reminded everyone to vote.
3. Jason Reyes shared that this would be his last library board meeting. In January he will be on the Parks
and Leisure Board.
4. Loretta Doty commented on the Dolly Parton's Imagination Library. 5th-8th 5. Marcia Brown and the retired HEB teachers distributed over 3000 books to students in the 5 8 grades
in HEB school district.
CITIZEN AND VISITOR COMMENTS:
Jim Hamilton, new Library Board Member, shared with the board that he has lived in Euless for 30 years,
retired from American Airlines, is a volunteer at the Mary Lib Saleh Euless Public Library and works part-time
at Mardel Christian Books.
LuAnn Portugal commented on the new displays.
ADJOURNMENT:
The Vice-Chairman asked for a motion to adjourn. The motion was made by Marcia Brown and seconded by
Allan Gibbs. The meeting was adjourned at 8:00 p.m.
