MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING
OF THE
LIBRARY BOARD
THURSDAY, MARCH 3, 2022
ITEM NO. I CALLED TO ORDER
A regular meeting of the Euless Library Board was called to orderby Chairperson Barney Snitz at
7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 3, 2022, in the Meeting Room of the Library, 201 N. Ector Drive.
Those present included: Chairperson Barney Snitz, and Board Members Mike McGehee, Rochelle
Ragas, Chris McAllister, Mavy Wright, Jorge Chac and Katherine Flannery. Vice Chairperson Jim
Hamilton was not present.

LuAnn Portugal, Euless, Texas
ITEM NO.2 APPROVED LIBRARY BOARD MINUTES
Chairperson Snitz asked for a motion to accept the minutes of the regular meeting held November
4, 2021. The motion was made by Board Member Wright and seconded by Board
Member McAllister. All were in favor and the motion carried.
ITEM NO.3 WELCOMED VISITORS
Chairperson Snitz welcomed all visitors.
ITEM NO.4 ELECTED OFFICERS
Board Member Chac made a motion to nominate Barney Snitz as Chairperson. Board Member
McAllister seconded the motion. All were in favor and the motion carried.
Board Member McGehee made a motion to nominate Jorge Chac as Vice Chairperson. Board
Member Ragas seconded the motion. All were in favor and the motion carried.
Board Member McGehee made a motion to nominate Rochelle Ragas as Library Board Liaison to
the Euless Library Foundation (ELF). Board Member Chac seconded the motion. All were in
favor and the motion carried.
ITEM NO.5 PRESENTED LIBRARY DIRECTOR'S REPORT

Ms. Knight introduced Whitney Hamlin to the Board as one of our Library Aide employees in
Access Services. Ms. Hamlin gave a brief overview of her personal and professional background
and her experience so far.
Board Member Chac complimented Ms. Hamlin's spirit and her ability to lift patrons and our
community.
❖ Library Update
Ms. Knight gave a presentation on recent additions to our collection, resources, and programs, and
reviewed stories of impact.
❖ Classes and Events Update
Ms. Knight gave an overview of the latest statistical summary and reviewed current library
program offerings.
ITEM NO. 6 REPORTS
Library Board Chairperson
Chairperson Snitz gave his review of the Boards and Commissions Dinner.
Library Board Vice Chairperson
Vice Chairperson Hamilton was not present.
Library Board Members
Board Member Chac also spoke of the Boards and Commissions Dinner and complimented the
library's altruistic customer service. He also inquired about details on the ESL classes.
Board Member McAllister inquired about the theme of this year's summer reading and what
programs would be taking place.
Board Member Wright stated that we've come so far from the old library. Ms. Knight inquired if
they had anything from the old library at the museum and Board Member Wright noted that they
did not but that she would be glad to work with Ms. Knight about putting a display of the library
together.
ITEM NO.7 PUBLIC COMMENTS
LuAnn Portugal, Euless, Texas, expressed her emotion to hear all the activities that we have going
on now and is moved by how much we offer our residents and complimented Ms. Knight on how
much the library has accomplished under her leadership.
ITEM NO.8 ADJOURNMENT
Chairperson Snitz asked for a motion to adjourn. The motion was made by Board Member Wright
and seconded by Board Member Chac. The meeting was adjourned at 7:24 p.m.
