MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING
OF THE
LIBRARY BOARD
THURSDAY, MAY 5, 2022
ITEM NO. 1 CALLED TO ORDER
A regular meeting of the Euless Library Board was called to order by Chairperson Barney Snitz at
7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 5, 2022, in the Meeting Room of the Library, 201 N. Ector Drive.
Those present included: Chairperson Snitz, and Board Members Jim Hamilton, Katherine
Flannery, Rochelle Ragas, Mike McGehee and Chris McAllister. Board Member Mavy Wright
and Vice Chairperson Jorge Chac were not present.

ITEM NO.2 APPROVED LIBRARY BOARD MINUTES
Chairperson Snitz asked for a motion to accept the minutes of the regular meeting held April 7,
2022. The motion was made by Board Member McAllister and secondedbyBoard
Member McGehee. All were in favor and the motion carried.
ITEM NO.3 WELCOMED VISITORS
Chairperson Snitz welcomed all visitors.
ITEM NO.4 PRESENTED LIBRARY DIRECTOR'S REPORT
❖ Staff Spotlight
Ms. Knight introduced Denise Olson, Library Assistant, to the Board. Ms. Olson gave a brief
overview of her personal and professional background and her library responsibilities.
❖ Library Update
Ms. Knight gave a review of library usage statistics and "Stories of Impact" that have taken place
over the past month. Ms. Knight gave a sneak peek of the new "Book an Expert" program that will
begin in June.

Ms. Knight discussed the FCC Affordable Connectivity Program. Ms. Knight provided
information on the "HEB Reads! Kick -Off Event" on May 21. She also invited Board Members
to volunteer at the event.
ITEM NO. 5 REPORTS
Library Board Chairperson
Mr. Snitz mentioned Arbor Daze and complimented the library on the set up. He also commented
on the large number of people that stopped by the tent while he was there.
Library Board Vice Chairperson
Vice Chairperson Chac was not present.
Library Board Members
Mr. McGehee arrived early and commented on how so many people were using the library. The
facilities were being used as desired and intended.
Mr. Hamilton mentioned The Tennessee Whiskey concert at Texas Star on May 6.
Mr. McAllister asked if our library information was pressed out to the schools. Ms. Knight told
him that we do have an avenue to do that through our relationship with Kiera Elledge, who is a
member of the HEB Reads! Executive Committee. Ms. Jones also mentioned that HEB ISD has
a new service called Peach jar in which we can submit digital information to go out in parent emails
from the district.
Ms. Knight reminded those present that Election Day for local races is taking place on Saturday,
May 7.
ITEM NO.6 PUBLIC COMMENTS
LuAnn Portugal, Euless, Texas, gave an update of some of the new businesses around Euless.
Chairperson Snitz asked for a motion to adjoum. The motion was made by Board Member
McAllister and seconded by Board Member Hamilton. The meeting was adjourned at 7:31 p.m.
