HomeMy WebLinkAbout15-1459 03-24-2015 RESOLUTION NO. 15-1459 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS, ADOPTING THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION'S FEDERALLY APPROVED DISADVANTAGED BUSINESS ENTERPRISE PROGRAM FOR ALL PROJECTS FUNDED WITH FEDERAL AND/OR STATE FUNDS AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACT AS THE CITY'S AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE IN ALL MATTERS PERTAINING TO THE CITY'S PARTICIPATION IN THE AFOREMENTIONED PROGRAM. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Euless, in partnership with the Texas Department of Transportation, recognizes that the citizens living in the City of Euless are important to the future of the Texas Department of Transportation and City of Euless; and WHEREAS, the City desires that citizens be encouraged, including those with disabilities, to walk to school and utilize trail and roadway improvements within the City; and WHEREAS, the City wishes to provide programs that will improve safety and reduce traffic, fuel consumption, and air pollution in the City; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1. The City agrees to adopt the Texas Department of Transportation's Federally Approved Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Program; and, SECTION 2. The Mayor and City Council directs and designates the City Manager as the City's Authorized Representative to act in all matters in connection with this Program; and, SECTION 3. The City will maintain all infrastructure improvements constructed using federal or state funds received from and administered by the Texas Department of Transportation. SECTION 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and approval. APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Euless City Council on March 24, 2015, by a vote of 7 ayes, 0 nays, and 0 abstentions. APPROVED: SI , __!
