RESOLUTION CANVASSING RETURNS AND DECLARING
RESULTS OF THE GENERAL ELECTION HELD IN THE
CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS, ON MAY 9, 2009, FOR THE
PURPOSE OF FILLING THE CITY COUNCIL POSITIONS OF
COUNCIL MEMBER PLACE FIVE AND COUNCIL MEMBER
PLACE SIX.
WHEREAS, there was held in the City of Euless, Texas on the 9th day of May, 2009, a
general election at which there were submitted to the duly qualified resident electors of the
City of Euless, Texas, for their action and vote therefore candidates for the offices of
Council Member Place Five and Council Member Place Six.
WHEREAS, there were 938 registered voters who cast votes at said election; and
WHEREAS, only duly qualified resident electors of said City of Euless, Texas, voted at said
election, and said election was called and held in strict conformity with the laws of the State
of Texas.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND ORDERED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS:
SECTION 1
That the election described in the preamble to this Resolution was duly called and notice
thereof given in accordance with the law; that said election was held in the manner required
by law; that only duly qualified resident electors of the City of Euless, Texas, voted at said
election; that due returns of said election have been made by the proper officers; that votes
cast at said election for the offices of Council Member Place Five and Council Member
Place Six are as follows:

That the above canvass be, and the same is hereby approved.

SECTION 2
That the City Council of the City of Euless, Texas, hereby officially declares that Glenn
Porterfield has been elected to the office of Council Member Place Five until May of 2012,
or until his successor is duly elected and qualified.
SECTION 3
That the City Council of the City of Euless, Texas, hereby officially declares that Perry
Bynum has been elected to the office of Council Member Place Six until May of 2012, or
until his successor is duly elected and qualified.
PASSED AND APPROVED at a regular meeting of the Euless City Council on the 12t day
of May, 2009, by a vote of 7 ayes, 0 nays, and 0 abstentions.
