HomeMy WebLinkAbout09-1314 06-09-2009RESOLUTION NO. 09 -1314 A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE APPLICATION FOR A GRANT TO FUND "IN -CAR VIDEO CAMERA SYSTEMS" AND THE "CHILD ABDUCTION RESPONSE TEAM" (CART) RAPID INVESTIGATION RESPONSE EQUIPMENT FOR THE EULESS POLICE DEPARTMENT WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Euless considers it in the best interest of the citizens of the City of Euless that police vehicle "in -car video camera systems" be in operation in the upcoming fiscal year; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Euless considers it in the best interest of the citizens of the City of Euless that the "Child Abduction Response Team" (CART) Rapid Investigation Response Equipment be in operation in the upcoming fiscal year; and WHEREAS, the City Council agrees to the grant application stipulation that in the event of Toss or misuse of Criminal Justice Division funds, the City of Euless assures that the funds will be returned to the Criminal Justice Division in full; and WHEREAS, the City Council designates the City Manager, Gary McKamie, as the grantee's authorized official, and the City Manager is granted the power to apply for, accept, reject, alter, or terminate the grant on behalf of the applicant agency, being the Euless Police Department. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS, THAT: the City Council supports the submission of a grant application for the Video Cameras and the Child Abduction Response Team (CART) Rapid Investigation Response Equipment to the Office of the Governor of Texas, Criminal Justice Division. APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Euless City Council on the 9th day of June, 2009, by a vote of 7 ayes, o nays, and o abstentions.
