Minutes
May 9, 2022
CALL TO ORDER
Chairperson Suzy McCormick called the meeting to order at 10:10 a.m. The meeting was
held at the Heritage Museum, Euless. She extended a welcome to the attendees.
MEMBERS PRESENT
Doris Brown, James Fuller, Patsy Hoover, Mary Hunt, Keith Jernigan, Norma Lively, Suzy
McCormick, Anniece McKanna, Gary Parker, Linda Pool, and Mavy Wright.
STAFF PRESENT
Parks and Community Services Administrative Secretary Jodie Dunn.
VISITORS PRESENT
Euless Police Detective Cale Smith.
GUEST SPEAKER PRESENTATION
Mavy Wright introduced Detective Smith who shared valuable information regarding Elder
Frauds, Thefts and Scams which may affect senior adults.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Gary Parker made a name correction to the March 9, 2020 minutes relating to #8 Heritage
Park in reference to the cabinet maker. Instead of Glenn Parker, the name should have
been Glenn Barton. Norma Lively made a motion to accept the minutes with the name
correction, and Doris Brown seconded the motion. With unanimous approval, Ms.
McCormick stated the motion carried.
Gary Parker made a motion to accept the April 11, 2022 minutes as written, and Mavy
Wright seconded the motion. With unanimous approval, the motion carried.
TREASURER'S REPORT
Treasurer Mavy Wright advised that the balance as of April 11, 2022 was $8,212.50. A total
of $17 was collected in the money jar at the April meeting. $200 was donated on behalf of
Helen Voss and Iris Elliott, which was given to Jodie Dunn to deposit. The ending balance
is $8,429.50.

STATUS OF CURRENT PROJECTS
Docents and Volunteer Report/Recruitment—Linda Pool circulated the volunteer
signup sheet for the June Heritage Park Open House for the hours of Noon until 4pm.
She expressed appreciation to the volunteers. She also advised that the HEBISD retired
teachers enjoyed their recent museum tour. She reminded the members there is no
Committee meeting in July or August, but she will prepare docent signup sheets.
2. Acquisition —no report.
3. Facebook—Ms. Pool stated Facebook posts are still receiving many views and shares.
Unfortunately, she still does not have access to adding posts.
4. Plaque —Ms. Wright stated the memorial plaque had been taken to Shield Awards for
preparation to include Helen Voss and Iris Elliott. It will be displayed at the museum as
soon as it is completed. She presented a plaque to Linda Pool in memory of Robert Nail.
A plaque will be placed in the museum as well.
S. Display Signs—Mavy Wright stated there are no signs available yet.
6. Publicity/Program/Speakers—Mavy Wright expressed her appreciation to Detective
Cale Smith for today's presentation.
7. Historical Albums —this agenda item is tabled since there is no current Chairperson.
8. Heritage Park —Mr. Parker had no report. However, there was discussion about
scheduling quarterly museum workdays. No report due to the lack of a current
Chairperson. Mr. Weinzapfel has resigned.
9. Artifact Recovery —No report due to the lack of a current Chairperson. Mr. Weinzapfel
has resigned.
10. Historical Tree Program— No report due to the lack of a current Chairperson. Mr.
Weinzapfel has resigned.
11. Inventory —there was a brief discussion of the acquisition process. Items are being
accepted on a case -by -case basis.

COMMITTEE REPORT/INPUT
1. Keith Jernigan stated his father had a Japanese letter from WWII that he would like to
donate; finding someone to translate the letter would be welcomed.
2. Linda Pool inquired about the name of the artist who created the Mural. Mr. Parker
indicated it was a cooperative effort with a Trinity High School art teacher.
3. Mavy Wright stated she is having difficulty locating display frames. She was formally
using Hobby Lobby, but the frames are not adequate; she recently purchased from Dollar
Tree to see if they will function for our display purposes.
ADJOURNMENT
Ms. Wright made a motion to adjourn the meeting which was seconded by Linda Pool. The
meeting adjourned at 11:40a.m.
