Parks and Leisure Services Board
May 02, 2022
CALL TO ORDER
The regular meeting of the Parks and Leisure Services Board was called to order at 7:00 p.m. On
Monday, May 02, 2022, in the Council Chambers of the Euless City Hall building by Chairman
Jones. Other Board Members present: Magen Brown, John Raab, Kay Seger, Isha Sharma, Roger
Sickler and Jason Reyes. Members absent: Steve Doty.
Staff members present: Director of Parks and Community Services Ray McDonald, Recreation
Superintendent Elizabeth Johnson, Parks Manager Daniel Dearborn, Parks Superintendent Ryan
Turner, Aquatics Supervisor Michael Radoyevich and Administrative Secretary Jodie Dunn.
Visitors present: None
INVOCATION
Roger Sickler gave the invocation.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Chairman Jones asked if there were any additions or corrections to the minutes from the March
07, 2022 and April 04, 2022 regular meeting. Roger Sickler made the motion to approve the
minutes as presented and was seconded by Jason Reyes. The vote was unanimous.
I. Board Member Reports
a. Magen Brown — Reflection & Villages of Bear Creek: No items to report.
b. Steve Doty — Heritage & S. Euless: Not present.
c. John Raab — Preserve & McCormick: No items to report.
d. Roger Sickler — J.A. Carr & Kiddy Carr: No items to report.
e. Jason Reyes — Bob Eden & Trailwood: No items to report.
f. Kay Seger — Midway & Blessing Branch: No items to report.
g. Isha Sharma — West Park & Wilshire: No items to report.
h. Chairman Jones — Parks at Texas Star: No items to report.

II. Business of the Tree Board
Tree Board Chairman Jason Reyes reported the following for April 1st — 30th 2022:
a. Total man hours for April 1st — 30th 2022 = 570
• 321 Horticulture
• 96 Forestry
• 32 Greenhouse
• 116 Special Projects
• 5 Training
➢ Removed Arbor at Midway Park
➢ Installed rock border and began planting Senior Center beds
➢ Planted Green Ribbon beds
➢ Installed Bob Eden water fountain
➢ Trimmed Trees on Pipeline and Raider
➢ Finished Bob Eden playground and border
➢ Continued color change out throughout City
➢ Put out trail product on new bridges at Heritage Park
III. Parks and Community Services Reports
a. Recreation Report — Elizabeth Johnson
• Elizabeth Johnson gave a report on the Arbor Daze event that was held on April 30,
2022. Elizabeth report that the weather was great and that the turn out was even
better. Ninja Nation and the Mechanical bull were two of the most popular
activities. Elizabeth recapped the community art project which was painting on
ceiling tiles that have been placed at the Euless Family Life Center.
• Elizabeth Johnson updated the Board on the Senior Center Easter egg hunt that
was held on April 14, 2022. The Easter Bunny was in attendance and loved by all
attendees.
• Elizabeth Johnson introduced the Park Board to Michael Radoyevich the new
Aquatics Supervisor.
b. Parks Report — Ryan Turner
• Ryan Turner gave an update on the Arbor Daze tree give away and informed the
board that the trees not handed out this year will be planted and turned in to bigger trees.
• Ryan Turner reported on the playground being installed at Bob Eden Park. The
playground was needing mulch before it could be opened and the mulch should be
delivered soon but rain is delaying the process.

• Ryan Turner let the Park Board know about future add-ons to Bob Eden park such
as a covered concrete pad that will be installed by the volleyball courts.
c. Community Service Report — Ray McDonald
• Ray McDonald commended his entire staff on the work that went in to hosting
Arbor Daze for the citizens of Euless.
• Ray McDonald report on the Athletic staff letting the board know that the staff was
hosting Majors and it was all hands-on deck with the staff working full days.
• Ray McDonald informed the board that the Historical Preservation Committee is
looking for volunteers to be on their board. Historical Preservation Committee
meetings are held the second Monday of the month at 10:00 am. Ray McDonald
gave an overview on how the volunteers on this committee are very excited and
have put a lot of passion in to their projects.
• Ray McDonald gave an update on the Wilshire Park project letting the board know
that about 95% of the planning is done and should go out to bid in June.
Chairman Jones thanked the staff for their reports.
