TAAT the Board of Aldermen of the Village e of ;1tlesa, Texas, at
a regular rooting held this date, does hereby order an election of
offioors for the Village of Wass, Texas, to be held on Tuesday
April 6, 1954, for the purpose of °lcoting a Mayr,or and Five Aldermen,
who shall serve for a period of one year or until their successors have
duly qualified. The effective date of taking such office shall be
April 1st, 1954. The Candidate receiving the highest number of votes
for office of mayor for one year term shall be declared Mooted to 6Uoh
office and the oandid€ates receiving the highest number of votes for
otfiue of 9oard of Aldermen for one year term shall be declared elooted
to such office.

Board of Alderman unless he is qual�fied elector of the Village and
has resided in the Village for six (8) months next proceeding the eleotIon
at 'which he is elected.

ANY eligible and qualified person may have his name printed upon
the official ballot as an independent Candidate for the office of

ANY Candidate for either of the offices herein provided for may
have }fie name printed upon the ballot on application to the Mayor,
such application to be furnished by the Village Seoretary and that same
shall contain the signatures of five (5) percent of the qualified voters
of the Village of the entire votes oast in the Village at the last gcn'ral
oleoti n, which application shall be a000rpnnied by the loyalty affidr=vit
as hereinabove set out.

of the holding/ id election for inspection of the Public for at least

filed with the Village leoretary, setting forth the grounds or nilleations.
In ease no such objection is filed within the time prescribed, the r e-
gulari ty or validi ty of the application of no person whose name is so
posted, shall be thereafter *contested. The Village looretary shall pre-
servo in his possession, for a period of two years all appliouti-�na,
notiooe of objections and other related papers.

Any pflreon eligible to the offioes herein provided for who has filed
his sworn appliaaitton in accordance with the provisions of this resolu-
tion, shall have his name printed on tote official ballots. Any, such
person may cause his name to be withdrawn at any time before ballots
are printed, by filing in writing with the Village Secretary a request
to that effect over his signature, duly attested to by a kiotary Public.
Rio name so withdrawn shall. be printed on the ballots. Not later than
ten s before the Ville General ,ection, the Village treta►ry

The ballots to be used in said election 1, be prepared in the
manner and form in the election node of the`State of Texas enacted by
the 1903 Legislature.

All qualified voters within the meaning of the oonstitution and laws
of the State of Texas, who has resided in the •State of Texas fora period

Voting by absentee ballot in said election shall commence on
14aroh 17, 1904, at the office of the Village Secretary, guless Texas.
Voting by absentees ballot shall close at five P. "1. (0 CO) April 2,
1954.
XII.
The election offioere above named shall make and deliver the returns

Judge, one delivered) to the Mayor of the Village, and one delivered to

from ballots used in said election shall be delivered to the District

virtue of the power vested in me by law, do hereby order that an
