WHEREAS, on the 5th day of April, A. D. 1955, pursuant to
the provisions of Title 28, Chapter 11, of the 1925, Revised
Civil Statutes of the State of-Texas, the ordinances of the
City of Euless, Texas, and Resolution No, 5, heretofore adopted
on the 7 day of February 1955, after due
notice as by law provided, the general election to elect a
Mayor and five Councilmen for the City of Euless, Texas, was
held within the limits of said City; and
WHEREAS, on this llth day of April, A. D. 1955, at a Regular
Meeting of the City Council of said City, the results of said
election were canvassed by the Mayor in the presence of the
City Council, and the said canvass showed that such result was
as follows:

67 Votes
10 Votes
FOR COUNCILMEN
W. H. Fuller 74 Votes
M. L. Anders 74 Votes
J. S. Anderson 72 Votes
A. E. Tillery 67 Votes
Ernest Millican Jr. 61 Votes
0. I. Longfellow ` 24 Votes
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the canvass of the result
of said election be and is hereby approved and that Jimmy C. Payton
having received the highest number of votes for the office of
Mayor and being a 6440witti of the votes cast is hereby declared
elected to said office and is to serve as such officer for the
term of one year from April 1, 1955, or until his successor is
duly elected and qualified.
THAT W. H. Fuller and M. L. Anders having received the
highest number of votes for the office of Councilmen are hereby
declared elected to the said office and are to serve as such
officers for the term of two years from April 1, 1955, or until
their successors are duly elected and qualified.
THAT J. S. Anderson, A. E. Tillery and Ernest Miliiean, Jr.,
having received the next highest number of votes for the office
of Councilmen are hereby declared elected to the said office and
are to serve ,,as such officers for the term of one year from
April 1, 1955, or until their successors are duly elected and
qualified. -That all such officers are hereby instructed to take
oath of office as by law provided and to file such oaths with
the City Secretary.
ADOPTED this llth day of April, A. D. 1955.
