B14-UC-48-0001-22-30-B TO RELIABLE PAVING, INC., ARLINGTON, TEXAS IN THE AMOUNT OF $116,010.00 FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF SIDEWALK ACCESSIBILITY RAMPS IN EULESS, TEXAS. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Euless, Texas does hereby recommend the award of a contract for the 40th Year CDBG Project No. B14-UC- 48-0001-22-30-B to Reliable Paving, Inc., Arlington, Texas in the amount of $116,010.00 for the replacement of sidewalk accessibility ramps in Euless, Texas; and WHEREAS, the 40th Year CDBG Project No. B14-UC-48-0001-22-30-B consists of the replacement of 20 sidewalk accessibility ramps along Pipeline Road and Kynette Drive; and WHEREAS, the construction funds available through Tarrant County for this project are $112,386.00; and WHEREAS, the City of Euless will contribute funds in the amount of $3,624.00; and WHEREAS, Staff has reviewed the bid tabulation and based on supporting documentation from Teague Nall and Perkins, Inc. (Exhibit "A"), recommends that Tarrant County award the contract to the low bidder, Reliable Paving, Inc., Arlington, Texas; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1. The City of Euless, Texas City Council recommends award of a contract to Reliable Paving, Inc., Arlington, Texas for the replacement of 20 sidewalk accessibility ramps along Pipeline Road and Kynette Drive in the amount of $116,010.00 of which Tarrant County Community Development will pay $112,386.00 and the City of Euless will pay $3,624.00. Ector Drive Euless,TX 76039-3595 Re: 40th Year CDBG Project—Euless Accessibility Ramps Recommendation for Award Dear Allen, The bid opening for the 40th Year CDBG City Wide Accessibility Ramps project was held at the offices of Tarrant County Community Development on Wednesday, March 11, 2015. The subject project involves construction of sidewalk ramps throughout the city. Two formal bids were received and are provided in the attached bid tabulation. A busy contractor pool along with rising concrete and labor costs have both limited the number of contractors willing to bid on this type of project and caused higher than expected construction prices. The 40th Year CDBG construction funds amount to$112,386.00 for construction of this project. In order to minimize city funding for this project, the best option is the award of Base Bid Part A, less Deductive Alternate Part B for a total amount of$116,010.00. Based on experience with the low bidder on projects of similar scope and size,we recommend that the City of Euless recommend award of the contract for construction of the Citywide Accessibility Ramps project to Reliable Paving for Base Bid Part A,less Deductive Alternative Part B for the Total Amount of $116,010.00. Along with this recommendation,the City of Euless must commit$3,624.00 in city funds to Tarrant County for construction.
