BOARD MINUTES
March 5, 2015

Chairman Barney Snitz called the meeting to order at 7:00p.m.
DISPOSITION OF THE MINUTES: Chairman Barney Snitz asked for a motion to be made to accept the
minutes of the February 5, 2015 meeting. Mike McGehee made the motion to accept the minutes and Allan
Gibbs seconded the motion.
WELCOME VISITORS: Chairman Barney Snitz welcomed the visitors.
REPORT FROM THE LIBRARY ADMINISTRATOR:
Sherry Knight commented on the monthly statistical report.
Sherry Knight introduced Nicole Galindo, Librarian Assistant from the Youth Department. Nicole discussed
the Teen Events in the Youth Department. Nicole also commented about the Teen Volunteer program.
Sherry Knight commented on the Sounds of the Season musical events at the Leon Hogg Amphitheater at Bear
Creek. The library is working closely with Parks and Community Services to put this music series together.
Sherry Knight reported that 58 attended the Jimmy Mitchell Texas Bagpiper event on March 2, 2015.
Upcoming Events:
March 11 at 4:00 pm 3D Printer Demonstration
March 13 at 7:00 pm"Beyond the Pale" at the Leon Hogg Amphitheater at Bear Creek
April 10th through 12th Friends of the Library Spring Book Sale
April 24th and April 25th Arbor Daze
DISCUSSIONS:
1. Carol Kveck comments on the STAAR Prep Test Series being offered in the Youth Department after
school.
2. Barney Snitz commented on the History of Euless mural at the Heritage Museum and the Insect
Collection display in the library.
3. Allan Gibbs commented on Books for Troops and linking up with the VA to send books to the VA
hospitals.
4. Karan Jasper reminded everyone to RSVP for the Board and Commission Dinner on March 16 at the
Texas Star.

CITIZEN AND VISITOR COMMENTS:
LuAnn Portugal commented on how much it takes to make all of the activities at the library happen every day.
ADJOURNMENT:
The Chairman asked for a motion to adjourn. The motion was made by Allan Gibbs and seconded by Mike
McGehee. The meeting was adjourned at 7:59 p.m.
