WHEREAS, on the 7th day of April, 1959, pursuant to the provisions
of Election Code of the State of Texas, the ordinances of the City of
Euless, Texas, and Resolution No. 17, heretofore adopted on the 10th day
of February, 1959, after due notice as by law provided, the general
election to elect; -a Mayor and two Councilmen for the City of Euless,
Texas, was held within the limits of the said City; and
WHEREAS, on this 14th day of April, 1959, at a Regular Meeting of
the City Council of said City, the results of said election were can-
vassed by the Mayor in the presence of the City Council, and the said
canvass showed that such results were as follows:
FOR MAYOR
Ernest Millican, Jr.
S. H. Cadenhead
Tommy Carruth
FOR COUNCILMEN
Ross Ferris
Billy F. Owens
Jack E. Langford

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the,canvass of the result of said
election be and is hereby approved and that Ernest Millican, Jr. having
received the highest number of votes for the office of Mayor and being a
majority of the votes cast, is hereby declared elected to said office and
is to serve as such officer for the term of two years, from April 1, 1959
or until his successor is duly elected and qualified.
THAT Ross Ferris and LeRoy Nix having received the highest number of
votes for the office of Councilmen are hereby declared elected to the said
office and are to serve as such officers for the term of two years from
April 1, 1959, or until their successors are duly elected and qualified.
THAT all such officers are hereby instructed to take oath of office
as by law provided and to file such oaths with the City Secretary.
ADOPTED this 14th day of April, 1959.
