HomeMy WebLinkAbout59-21 05-08-1959RESOLUTION NO. 21 WHEREAS on the 2nd day of May, 1959, pursuant to the provisions of Election Code of the State of Texas, the ordinances of the Cityof Euless, Texas, and Resolution No. 19, heretofore adopted on the 10th day of March, 1959, after due notice as by law provided, the gpecial election to elect one councilman for the City of Euless, Texas, for the unexpired term of A. E. Tillery was held within the limits of the said City; and WHEREAS on this the 8th day of May, 1959, at a Special Meeting of the City Council of said City, the results of said election were canvassed by the Mayor in the presence of the City Council, and the said canvass showed that such results were as follows: FOR COUNCILMAN Albert J. Harvey Edward M. Colley J. S. Anderson 10 votes 51 votes 76 votes THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the canvass of the result of said election be and is hereby approved and that J. S. Anderson, having received the highest number of votes for the office of Councilman, is hereby declared elected to said office of Councilman for the unexpired term of A. E. Tillery to April 1, 1960, or until his successor is duly elected and qualified. THAT such officer is hereby instructed to take oath of office as by law provided and to file such oath with the City Secretary. ADOPTED this 8th day of May, 1959.
