Dear Citizens,
Have you ever
taken a tour of
Heritage Park,
walked across the
Old Iron Bridge or
gazed at the trees
in the Historic
Tree Grove? If so, then you have
seen firsthand some of the wonderful
work that the Historical Preservation
Committee does. The mission of
the Euless Historical Preservation
Committee is to preserve and promote
an awareness of the historical heritage
of the area and to demonstrate how it
defines current culture and provides
a bridge between yesterday, today
and tomorrow. The Committee works
to preserve and protect the culture,
genealogy, archives, structures and
historical treasures of the City.
Volunteers are an essential part of
this Committee. If you are interested
in volunteering for the Historical
Preservation Committee, it is
actively looking for new members
and it could really use your help. For
more information about becoming
a volunteer, please call Suzy
McCormick at 817-919-1008.

9111 Memorial Fire Administration
201 N. Ector Drive
Please join us for a ceremony to remember the lives
of the heroes who were lost during the attack on our
nation. The City of Euless is the proud owner of an
artifact from the World Trade Center. The artifact
is a 12-foot-long, 6,000-pound steel beam from the
September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. This memorial
sits in front of the Euless Fire Administration Building
as a memorial to the thousands killed that tragic day.
No Drones Allowed at
Certain Parks
In partnership with DFW Airport, the City of Euless
has prohibited the use of drones at parks within close
proximity to the airport. This partnership aims to
minimize the risk of an incident between drones and
aircraft. Drone use is prohibited at the following parks:
• Villages of Bear Creek Park • Bob Eden Park
• McCormick Park • Trailwood Park
For more information about drone usage,
call 817-835-4841.

300 West Midway Drive
Labor Day Weekend Hours:
Saturday & Sunday, September 3 & 4,
Noon — 7: 00 p.m.
Monday, September S, Noon — 6:00 p.m.
Spend Labor Day weekend at the Euless Family Life
Aquatic Park. The Aquatic Park is closing for the
season after Monday, September 5, so this is your last
chance to enjoy the pool and the other aquatic activities
this park has to offer.
Bring your entire family to the Aquatic Park. There
is something to do for people of all ages. You can
float down the lazy river, enjoy the water playground,
splash in the fountains, go down the flume slides, hop
across the lily pad walk or just relax on the lounge
chairs beside the pool. Bring your favorite picnic foods
or visit the concession stand, so you can stay all day.
Board and
Commission
Members
The City of Euless has 14 Boards and Commissions that
have been established by City Charter, City Council
or State Law. Examples of some of these Board and
Commissions include the: Library Board, Crime Control
and Prevention District Board, Parks and Leisure
Services Board, Planning and Zoning Commission,
Animal Shelter Advisory Board and more.
The City Council selects the board members and these
appointments are for two or three-year terms. Board
appointees perform invaluable public service that can
shape the quality of life in Euless and reflect the varied
interests that are unique to our community. For more
information, contact the City Secretary's Office at 817-
685-1434 or visit www.eulesstx.gov/cso.
Solicitors Permit
Euless requires solicitors to wear an identifiable traffic
safety vest and an identification badge. If a solicitor
appears at your door, ask to see this permit if it's
not prominently displayed. The badge will provide
the name and address of the solicitor, solicitor's
employer, principal or organization, and kind of goods
or services to be sold or offered for sale. In hopes to
keep deceptive practices out of Euless, solicitors who
ask for cash deposits or advance payments for future
delivery of services are now required to pay a bond.
Tips to recognize a registered solicitor:
• Must wear a traffic safety vest and visibly
display the issued City of Euless badge
• Are not allowed to distribute to a house
with a posted sign that says
"NO SOLICITORS" or "NO TRESPASSING"
• Are not allowed before 8:30 a.m. or after dark
or 9 p.m., whichever is earlier on a given day
• Are not permitted to place a flyer outside a
home if there are existing flyers present
• A minor must be under the constant supervision
of a person 18 years of age or older
There are a few exceptions to the solicitors' ordinance
that do not require registration with the City including:
political or religious support or recruitment, and
government employees posting code violations,
water restrictions, utility outages, burn bans, special
event impacts, security issues, etc.
If the solicitor is in any way rude, discourteous or
otherwise suspicious, call 9-1-1 and an officer will
respond to investigate the situation. The Chief of
Police can suspend permits if necessary. For more
information or questions regarding this ordinance,
please call 817-685-1500.

Tips for Successful Garbage & Recycling
You have three container choices for recyclable materials: blue bags, a 15-gallon bin or a 65-gallon cart. The
base rate for recycling is $1.54 per month and allows you to use blue bags. Blue bags are not recyclable and
must be purchased by the resident. A 15-gallon bin or 65-gallon cart both incur an additional monthly charge
of $1.73 per month.
RECYCLING
Recycling is single stream and items don't have to be separated. However, all recyclable materials should be
placed inside a blue recycling bag, green bin or rolling cart to avoid confusion. It's best to place flattened,
clean cardboard boxes inside the bag, bin or cart, if possible. If not, place the recycling bag or bin on top of
the cardboard to prevent it from being picked up with the garbage collection or blown down the street. If there
are too many cardboard boxes to fit in the rolling cart, flatten them and place them as close to the recycle cart
as possible.
What Can Be Recycled:
• Aluminum Soda Cans • Corrugated Cardboard Boxes (broken down and flattened so they will not be mistaken
as trash) • Lightweight boxboard containers such as cereal boxes, tissue boxes and other packages (broken
down and flattened) • Paper Products like catalogs, magazines, phone books, junk mail, newspapers and office
paper (not shredded paper) • Wax -coated paper drink containers • Plastic Bottles with these numbers on the
bottom: 1, 2 , 3, 4, 5 & 7 (#6 is not accepted) • Steel or tin cans cleaned of all food contamination • Unbroken
glass bottles and jars of any color
GARBAGE
Trash needs to be in a plastic bag. Bag your trash and securely tie it.
in a container or stacking the plastic garbage bags at the curb.
You have the option of placing these bags
Some cardboard boxes aren't recyclable. If they are greasy, wet or dirty from other items, they are considered
trash and can be placed with your trash receptacle. Likewise, the packing material that is sometimes inside
boxes is considered trash, such as Styrofoam, packing peanuts, plastic bubble wrap, etc. For more details
regarding the disposal of trash, recyclables, bulk items, green products and hazardous items, visit www.
eulesstx.gov/solidwaste.
