WHEREAS, on the 18th day of November, 1961, pursuant to Ordinance
No. /S(,adopted September 26, 1961, by the Euless City Council and
pursuant to the ordinances of the City of Euless, Texas and the provisions
of the election code of the State of Texas, and after due notice as by
law provided, a Special Election was held within the City of Euless on
the question of whether a Commission should be chosen to frame a Home
Rule Charter for the City ofEuless; and
WHEREAS a ballot for such Special Election further provided for the
election of the fifteen man charter commission to frame a Home Rule Charter
for the City of Euless, providing that a majority of the qualified voters
voting on said question voted in the affirmative; and
WHEREAS, on the 20th day of November, 1961, at a Called Meeting of
the City Council of the City of Euless, the results of said election were
canvassied by the Mayor in the presence of the City Council, and the said
canvass showed the following:

WHEREAS, there were 410 persons receiving votes for election to
the Charter Commissio.. as shown by the vote tally exhibit attached hereto
and to which a reference is made a part hereof; and
WHEREAS, the following named persons received the highest number of
votes for election to such fifteen - membered Charter Commission:

2. TROY EUBANKS, JR.
3. R. W. 'FULLER
4. FRED GRAY
5. RICHARD E. GREGORY
6. BARL L. HOLCOMB
7. ERNEST MILLICAN, JR.
8. HERSHEL MORGAN
9. JIMMY C. PAYTON
10. WM. G. FULLER
11. WOODROW THOMPSON
12. H. A. SIMMONS
13. N. W. TILLINGHAST
14. JOE UMPHRESS
15. HENRY USELTON, JR.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the canvass of the results of
said election be and the same is hereby approved, and that the above named
fifteen persons,having the highest number of votes for election to the
Charter Commission are hereby declared elected to membership on said
Charter Commission to serve and act as by law provided.
That such Charter Commission members are hereby instructed to take
the Oath of Office as by law provided and file such oath with the City
Secretary.
