HomeMy WebLinkAbout62-54 07-21-1962RESOLUTION NO. 54 Whereas, on the 21st day of July, 1962, pursuant to the Ordinance No. 167 adopted May 31st, 1962, by the Euless City Council, and pursuant to the provisions of the Election Code of the State of Texas, and pursuant to the Home Rule Statutes of the State of Texas, being Articles 1165 through 1182f and as amended and after due notice as by law provided, a Special Election was held.within the City of Euless on the question of whether the Citizens of Euless favored the adoption of the Home Rule Charter heretofore drafted by the Euless Charter Commission and mailed to each qualified voter according to the last preceding poll tax collector's roll for the year ending January 31 preceding such election; and WHEREAS, on the 21st day of July, 1962, at a called meeting of the Euless City Council, the results of said election were canvassed by the Mayor in the presence of the City Council, and the said canvass showed the following votes cast: "FOR THE ADOPTION OF SUCH PROPOSED HOME RULE CHARTER " /Q 3 "AGAINST THE ADOPTION OF SUCH PROPOSED HOME RULE CHARTER.." Now therefore, be it resolved, that the Canvass of the results of said election be and thesame is hereby approved, and that the Proposed Home Rule Charter be officially adopted according to the vote of the Citizens of Euless, and be it further resolved that an-�authentidatgdeopy'df the Home Rule Charter as adopted be forwarded to the Secretary of State for the State of Texas with the certification of the Mayor of Euless, Texas, showing approval by the qualified voters of such Charter.
