Euless City Council
July 20, 1957
Mayor Millican called the City Council
in a special meeting on July 20, 1957, at 5:00 p.m.
Present and voting were Councilmen G. L.
Anders, J. S. Anderson, S. H. Cadenhead and Paul Horton. The meeting was
agreeable to Councilman Murray who was unable to attend.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss
further the preparation incident to the hiring of a full time Chief of
Pol ice.
On a motion by Councilman Anderson,
seconded by Councilman Cadenhead, the City Secretary was instructed to
send, by certified mail, a letter to Mr. Earl Stapleton, former Chief of
Police of Euless, Texas, stating that the City Council grants him until
July 27, 1957, to turn in to Councilman Anders, Police Commissioner,
a l l equipment purchased by the City of Euless to be used on the patrol
car or in the police services. And that the City Council requests his
attendance at the next Council meeting, August 3, 1957, at 7:30 p.m. to
discuss b i l l s presented by Mr. Stapleton to the City of Euless. The
motion was adopted by unanimous vote.
The meeting was adjourned by Mayor
