WHEREAS, the City of Euless, Tarrant County, Texas, is a rapidly grating
city located in the metropolitan complex between the cities of Dallas and Port
Worth; and
WHEREAS, a substantial portion of the population growth experienced by
the City of Buless has occured since the last preceding Federal Census of
1960; and
WHEREAS, the Euless City Council, en August 1, 1961, by official act
determined that the population of the City of Euless was well in excess of
the population figure required for the adoption of a Home Rule Charter; and
WHEREAS, on July 21, 1962, a Home Rule Charter was adopted by vote of
the citizens of Euless, Texas; and
WHEREAS, the City of Euless has continued to experience rapid population
growth; and
WHEREAS, the utility companies providing service to the citizens of
Euless, Texas have furnished statistical data, facts and information to
the Euless City Council pertaining to the actual population of the City of
Euless; and
WHEREAS, Texas Power & Light Company, Lone Star Gas Company and the
United States Postmaster for the City of Euless have furnished statistical
data, facts and information indicating the actual population of the City
of Euless to be approximately 10,500 inhabitants; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary that official records reflect the true,
correct and actual population of Euless, Texas;
MOW, THBREPORE, based upon and in consideration of the statistical
data, reports and information furnished to it, the City Council of Euless,
Texas, has determined, and does by these presents find that the popula-
tion of the City of Euless is 10,500 residents, and it is hereby resolved
that the population of the City of Euless be established at 10 SOO
residents, and it is hereby further resolved that copies of this Resolution
and finding be presented to the proper authorities of the State of Texas so
as to establish the correct census of the City of Euless.
