HomeMy WebLinkAbout64-70 04-14-1964RESOLUTION NO.70 WHEREAS, City Councilmen Roy F.Braswell and H. M. Huffman were first elected to serve on the Euless City Council in April, 1960, and WHEREAS, City Councilmen Huffman and Braswell have regularly and faithfully attended Council meetings and performed those duties assumed by them upon acceptance of the responsibilities of Councilmen, and WHEREAS, Councilmen Braswell and Huffman have made personal sacrifice in terms of time, effort and energy expended on behalf of Euless municipal business and affairs, and WHEREAS, Councilmen Huffman and Braswell have met with honor and honesty the difficult decisions required of public servants, in every instance voting by conviction in spite of the cricicism inherent in civic and community service, and WHEREAS, during their period of service the City of Euless has made rapid strides in effecting improved and increased municipal services, including, but not limited to the adoption of a City managerial form of government, the adoption of a Home Rule Charter, the accomplishment of substantial progress toward acquisition of City owned water and sewer systems and presentation to the voters of Euless their first municipal street improvement bond proposal, and WHEREAS, Councilmen Braswell and Huffman are in April, 1964, retiring from service as City Councilmen for the City of Euless, and WHEREAS, Huffman and Braswell have served the people of Euless with dedication, sincerety and a great sense of public responsibility, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Euless City Council elect of April, 1964, that public tribute be paid and gratitude expressed to Councilmen Braswell and Huffman for their devotion to the City of Euless and that this Resolution be spread upon the minutes of this regular Coun- cil meeting on this 14th day of April, 1964.
