EULESS ANIMAL SHELTER ADVISORY BOARD
June 15, 2022
ITEM 1 — CALL TO ORDER
A regular meeting of the Euless Animal Shelter Advisory Board was called to order by
Director of Public Works and Engineering Hal Cranor at 11:34 A.M. at the City of Euless
Public Works Building, 1513 Westpark Way, Euless, Texas 76040
The following members were in attendance:

Dr. Susan Read
City Council Member Eddie Price
Hurst Animal Services Supervisor Chris Chenevert
Staff Members Present:
Deputy City Manager Chris Barker
Animal Control Supervisor Larry Atkinson
Animal Control Officer Jodan Shelton
Administrative Secretary Debbie Latour
ITEM 2 — REVIEW & APPROVE MEETING MINUTES FROM OCTOBER 20, 2021
Director Cranor asked if there were any comments or questions regarding the minutes of
March 16, 2022. With no questions or comments, the minutes were accepted as written.
ITEM 3 — UPDATE ON GAP
Supervisor Atkinson reported that GAP held a few adoption events that included a Show
& Tell, and participation in National Pet Adoption Day at PetSmart. They held 2 fund
raising / adoption events at Dave & Busters — 2 dogs were adopted and 1 was placed in
foster care, and a group of TCU students set up a puppy adoption event. GAP also held
their annual Walk_A-Thou where they exceeded their fund raising goal of $20,000.
ITEM 4 — QUARTERLY REPORT
ACO Supervisor Atkinson reported that ACO Shelton has updated his euthanasia
certificate and ACO Kraft has recently completed a stress management class. Supervisor
Atkinson reviewed the quarterly reports. Dr. Read mentioned the increase in cats and
dogs picked up. Director Cranor inquired about the increase in noise complaints and
asked if this was due to barking dogs. Supervisor Atkinson indicated that it was and the

possible cause would be the number of individuals no longer working from home so their
dogs are outside for longer periods of time.
ITEM 5 — SHELTER / FACILITY UPDATE
Supervisor Atkinson reported that there was an Eagle Scout project in which benches
were build for the dog park area.
ITEM 6 — QUESTIONS / COMMENTS
Director Cranor shared that adjusting the shelter hours had been discussed with Mayor
& Council and they agreed with delaying the opening of the shelter to the general public
from 7am until 9am. had been asked if there were any question or comments. Council
Member Price inquired about the complaint in the quarterly report about too many
animals. Director Cranor asked if there were any more questions or comments and there
were none.
ITEM 7 — ADJOURN
The meeting was adjourned at 11:50 A.M.
