HomeMy WebLinkAbout65-112 10-31-1965Resolution No. 112 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, the observance of Halloween falls this year on Sunday, October 31, 1965, and WHEREAS, it has come to be the practice of children and youth to participate in trick or treating activities on Halloween evening, and WHEREAS, such activity of trick or treating conducted in a reasonable manner is a pleasure to the children and youth of our City but cannot be allowed to interfere with religious worship, and WHEREAS, the citizens of Euless are fundamentally a church going people who observe Sunday in solemn respect to the Creator, and WHEREAS, trick or treating activities can be observed by youth of our City on Satur day, October 30, 1965, without conflicting with church or religious services, and WHEREAS, the Euless City Council deems it just and right to call upon Euless citizens to find their place at worship on Sunday evening, October 31, 1965; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL that the citizens and youth of Euless be urged and encouraged to observe Sunday, October 31, 1965, in worship at regular morning and evening church services.
