Euless Public Library Goes Live on Aspen and
Koha with ByWater Support
ByWater Solutions, America’s forefront provider of Open Source library technology
support, announced that the Euless Public Library in Texas is now live on Aspen
Discovery and Koha ILS with ByWater Support. ByWater migrated over 77,000 bib
records and 87,000 item records.

Sherry Knight, Director of Library Services at Euless Public Library, recently
commented:

Euless police investigating area around elementary
school

EULESS, Texas - Euless police are investigating an incident in the area of Oakwood
Terrace Elementary School.
Details are limited at this time, but Euless police say that students are safe and
officers are present in and around the school.
HEB ISD said the school was placed on lockdown due to a potential threat outside
the school.
The lockdown was lifted, and the school was placed into "secure" status just before
1 p.m.
The district says it is working with Euless police to adjust its dismissal process.
Students who usually walk home from school on their own will be held at the
school until a parent or guardian can pick them up.

EULESS, Texas - There is increased security at Oakwood Terrace Elementary in
Euless on Thursday after a man made a terroristic threat against the school on
Wednesday, forcing it to temporarily go into lockdown.
Euless police issued a felony warrant for 34-year-old Jerrekus Rishawn Pendleton
for allegedly making the threat.
Euless police released 3 photos of Pendleton.
The police department is asking for the public's help to find Pendleton.
They are asking anyone with information to call 911 or 817-685-1526.
Crimestoppers of Tarrant County is also taking anonymous tips at 817-469-8477.
Oakwood Terrace Elementary in Euless went into lockdown just after noon on
Wednesday following the threat.
The campus was kept in "secure" status until students were released.

An arrest warrant was issued late Wednesday for a 34-year-old man accused of
threatening to murder his ex-girlfriend and her children, who attend a Euless elementary
school, police said.
No one was injured, but additional Euless police officers have been placed at Oakwood
Terrace Elementary, 700 Ranger Drive, as a precaution.
Euless police identified the suspect as Jerrekus Rishawn Pendleton, who is accused in
the warrant of terroristic threat, a felony.
On Thursday, Euless police said Pendleton is accused of threatening to kill his ex-
girlfriend and her children, who attend Oakwood Terrace.
Pendleton made the reported threat at about 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, police said.
On Wednesday, Euless police posted on social media that students were safe and
additional officers were patrolling in and around the school as the investigation got
underway.
KXAS-TV reported that students were dismissed Wednesday in what police called a
“controlled release.” Parents were told to show their IDs at a security checkpoint, and all
students were safety sent home, police said.
A spokesperson for the Hurst-Euless-Bedford Independent School District told KXAS
that classes would continue as scheduled Thursday as Euless detectives continued the
investigation.

EULESS, Texas — Euless police are searching for a man accused of threatening an
elementary school Wednesday.
Jerrekus Rishawn Pendleton, 34, faces a charge of terroristic threat for allegedly
making a threat toward Oakwood Terrace Elementary School, near Simmons Street and
West Euless Boulevard.
Police issued a warrant for his arrest after an incident Wednesday, according to a news
release.
More information about the alleged threat was not released.
Detectives were still investigating the case and asked for the public's help in locating
Pendleton.
Police were planning to provide extra security at the school, which is part of the Hurst-
Euless-Bedford Independent School District.
Anyone with information about Pendleton's whereabouts is asked to call 911 or Euless
police at 817-685-1526.
Tipsters can also call Crime Stoppers of Tarrant County at 817-469-8477.

Euless police said they have increased security at Oakwood Terrace Elementary School
after a man made a threat against the school.
An arrest warrant was issued for 34-year-old Jerrekus Rishawn Pendelton on a felony
charge of making a terroristic threat, authorities said Wednesday night.
Police gave no other information about the threat. The school underwent a controlled-
release dismissal Wednesday, police said.
Oakwood Terrace is in Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD, which said the school went into a
brief lockdown around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday. District spokeswoman Deanne Hullender
said the increased police presence in the area is out of an “abundance of caution.”

Euless police are searching for a man who they say made a threat toward an
elementary school, prompting a security response Wednesday.
A warrant was issued Wednesday evening for 34-year-old Jerrekus Rishawn Pendleton,
who faces a felony charge of terroristic threat involving Oakwood Terrace
Elementary, police said.
Pendleton should be considered armed and dangerous, police said, and is believed to
be at large in the North Texas area. Police noted there was a warrant for his arrest from
Mississippi for a charge of a felon with a firearm.
Investigators said Pendleton allegedly threatened to shoot his ex-girlfriend during an
argument over money and threatened to shoot her children at Oakwood Terrace
Elementary, where they went to school.
A spokesperson for the Hurst-Euless-Bedford Independent School District told NBC
DFW that classes were continuing as scheduled Thursday but with additional police
officers present.
In a series of updates Wednesday on social media, Euless police told parents that
students were safe. Additional officers were patrolling in and around the school as the
investigation was underway.
Students were dismissed from their classes Wednesday in what police called a
"controlled release" where parents were told to show their identifications at a security
checkpoint. All students were safely sent home without incident, police said.
Detectives are asking anyone with information that can help locate Pendleton to contact

Two minors charged in threats made against

Two minors face charges after they made threats against a school in Euless on
Monday, according to police.
Police said Thursday that the minors made threats against Euless Junior High School
on Monday.
During their investigation, police determined the threats made through social media
were a hoax. They identified the two juvenile suspects with the help of the Hurst-Euless-
Bedford school district, according to a news release.
The department said it takes all threats seriously and hopes this will encourage parents
to closely monitor their children’s social media use to prevent similar incidents and
charges.
Separately, Euless police are searching for a man who threatened to kill his ex-
girlfriend’s children, who are students at a local elementary school. Extra officers were
stationed at Oakwood Terrace Elementary as a precaution.
