HomeMy WebLinkAbout66-131 04-05-1966Resolution No. 131 WHEREAS, on the fifth day of April, 1966, pursuant to the provisions of the election code of the State of Texas, the provisions of the Euless City Charter and Resolution No. 118 of the City of Euless heretofore adopted on the eleventh day of January, 1966, after due notice as the law provided, the general election to elect three (3) City Councilmen for the City of Euless, Texas, for a period of two years or until their successors have been duly qualified, was held within the limits of said City; and WHEREAS, on the fifth day of April, 1966, at a special meeting of the Euless City Council the results of said election were canvassed by the Mayor, in the presence of the Euless City Council, and the said canvass showed that such results were as follows: FOR COUNCILMAN: Frank E. Douglass 182 Votes Bobby R. Fuller 184 Votes Bill Martin 63 Votes Don R. Warren 188 Votes Write In - NONE Total Votes Cast: 218 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the canvass of the results of said election be and are hereby approved that Don R. Warren , Bobby R. Fuller, and Frank E. Douglass, having received the highest number of votes for the office of City Councilmen are hereby declared elected to the office of City Councilman for a term of two (2) years or until their successors are duly elected and qualified. THAT such officers are hereby instructed to take the Oath of Office as by law provided, and to file such oaths with the City Secretary. ADOPTED this 5th day of April, 1966.
