A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EULESS,
TEXAS, DESIGNATING THE POLICE CHIEF AS THE AUTHORIZED
OFFICIAL TO APPLY FOR, ACCEPT, REJECT, ALTER, OR TERMINATE
THE FISCAL YEAR 2023 GRANT FROM THE OFFICE OF THE
GOVERNOR, TEXAS, CRIMINAL JUSTICE DIVISION, TO FUND THE
PURCHASE OF BULLET -RESISTANT SHIELDS FOR THE CITY OF
EULESS POLICE DEPARTMENT.
WHEREAS, the City of Euless City Council finds it in the best interest of the
citizens of the City of Euless that the Bullet -Resistant Shield Project be funded for Fiscal
Year 2023; and
WHEREAS, the City of Euless City Council agrees that in the event of loss or
misuse of the Criminal Justice Division funds, the City of Euless City Council assures that
the funds will be returned to the Criminal Justice Division in full; and
WHEREAS, the City of Euless City Council designates Police Chief Michael Brown
as the grantee's authorized official. The authorized official is given the power to apply for,
accept, reject, alter, or terminate the grant on behalf of the applicant agency.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1.
The City Council of the City of Euless, Texas, authorizes Police Chief Michael
Brown to apply for, accept, reject, alter, or terminate the FY 2023 Grant from the Texas
Office of the Governor - Criminal Justice Division in accordance with the terms and
conditions thereof for Bullet Resistant Shields Grant (Grant Number 4668501) and accept
funds in the amount of $173,505.76 for the Bullet Resistant Shields Project.
SECTION 2.
This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Euless City Council on
October 25, 2022, by a vote of 7 ayes, 0 nays, and 0 abstentions.
