WHEREAS, the Euless City Council was, on August 23, 1966,
ttoned by a group of Euless Citizens to raMl1 en election on the proposition
of Bedford's merger with Euless, and
WHEREAS, the Euless City Council examined the petition and found
that It was signed by qualified voters and electors of the City of Euless and
that the number of qualified signatures on said petition exceeded i5% of the
total number of votes cast for city officials at the last preceding general
election in the City of Euless, Torrent County, Texas, and
WHEREAS, the Euless City Countti determinsd that such petition was
order and in compliance with statutory requirements and constitutes an
igatten on the Euless City Council to cell an election pursuant to the re
west* contained In sold petition, and
WHEREAS, the Bedford Town Council his been petit toned by a group
of Bedford citizens to merge with the City of Euless (s copy of such petition
being on file In the office of the Euless City Secretary), and
WHEREAS, the Euless City Council anticipates that elections will be
held stmultansously In Euless and Bedford on the proposition of the proposed
merger of Bedford with Euless, and
WHEREAS, the Euless City Council has voted to hold an election on
such proposed me ger on September 24, 1966, provided the Bedford Town Council
holds and rails an section on the same question on the sumo day;
