HomeMy WebLinkAbout1957-08-2320 Ca 1 1 ed Meeting Euless City Council August 23, 1957 The City Council was called in a special meeting by Mayor Millican for 7:00 p.m., August 23, 1957. A l l Councilmen were present; Messr. G. L. Anders, J. S. Anderson, S. H. Cadenhead, Paul Horton, and W. 0. Murray. On a motion by Councilman Cadenhead, seconded by Councilman Anders, the Council unanimously approved that portion of Oakwood Terrace, an addition to the City of Euless, platted as blocks 1, 2, 3, and 4, and tracts A, B, and C. Councilman Anderson offered a motion authorizing the Building Commissioner to discontinue the practice of writing 'building permits individually when and if the permittee desires to make a purchase i n bulk. Any number of permits may be issued under one notarization showing the numbers from to , inclusive. The Building Commissioner shall list the numbers individually showing their relation to block and lot numbers and retain as a permanent record. The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. A motion by Councilman Cadenhead, seconded by Councilman Horton, moved that a former motion approved in a past meeting, authorizing the payment of $60.00 on the payment and installation of a radio in the patrol car, be increased to $65.00. The motion was adopted. Councilman Horton made a motion, with a second from Councilman Murray, that Rady Engineering Company be authorized to number all the present city limits of the City of Euless. The motion was adopted . On a final motion by Councilman Anderson, seconded by Councilman Cadenhead, it was moved that Texas Electric Service Company be authorized and requested to install two to four lights, as the need may be, on the city streets around the Hurst - Euless new high school. Councilman Anderson to accompany Mr. Foster or other Texas Electric Serviceman and they are to work out the kinds of lights needed and the proper locations of the lights. The motion was adopted. The City Secretary was instructed to: 1. Have a sepia made of Midway Park Addition and send it to Rady Engineering Company and have them supply house numbers on and make six prints for the City of Euless. 2. Inform Chief of Police Sustaire he is to make weekly reports to Police Commissioner Anders who in turn w i I I contact the Council in matters and questions the Chief of Police desires information on. 208 (Page Two, Called Meeting, Euless City Council, August 23, 1957) 3. Inform Chief of Police the City Council authorized and requests him to do whatever he can as Chief of Police to close the place on Highway 183, across the highway from 183 grocery that is supposed to be a massage place. 4. Have Attorney Bondurant draw an ordinance creating lots with a minimum width at front building line of 60 feet and be sure that such ordinance covers only the Midway Park Addition to the City of Euless. by Mayor Millican.
