WHEREAS, the Hurst-,Euless Bedford area has experienced a rapid
population growth and Industrial expansion, and
WHEREAS, the designation for the site of the Dallas - Fort Worth
International Airport In the Hurst•Euless- Bedford area will accelerate
population growth and industrial and commercial development, and
WHEREAS, the citizens of Hurst, Euless and Bedford do not, at this time,
have a centrally located medical hospital facility to meet the medical and
Surgical needs that arise daily, and
WHEREAS, the citizens of Hurst, Euless and Bedford should have available
to them a centrally located medical hospital properly equipped to meet the
needs of the citizens thereof, and
WHEREAS, public spirited and civic minded community leaders from Hurst,
Euless and Bedford have met together and have formed a Hospital Planning
Committee, and
WHEREAS, the publicly expressed intent of this Hospital Planning
Committee composed of citizens from the cities of Hurst, Euless and Bedford,
has been to found and establish a medical and surgical hospital centrally
located within the cities of Hurst, Euless and Bedford, and
WHEREAS, such Hospital Planning Committee has publicly stated its
intention to work and plan toward the establishment of a municipal hospital
authority to be jointly controlled by the governing bodies of Hurst. Euless
and Bedford, and
WHEREAS, such Hospital Planning Committee proposes to found and
establish a community medical and surgical hospitai through the use of
available Federal funds, private financing and public contributions, all
accomplished without resort to taxation, and
WHEREAS, the Hospital Planning Committee

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the C

Planning Committee for the Cities of Hurst, Euless and Bedford:

That the above named Hospital Planning Committee is hereby authorized
and directed on behalf of the Cities of Hurst, Euless and Bedford, to establish
a plan for the founding and creation of a municipal hospital to serve the citizens
of Hurst, Euless and Bedford. That such Committee shall be officially recognized
by the Cities of Hurst, Euless and Bedford as the respective representatives of
the towns wherein they reside and that they be given the full support and
confidence of the Cities of Hurst, Euless and Bedford in this endeavor to bring
a medical and surgical hospital facility to the Hurst, Euless and Bedford cities.
ADOPTED this 27th day of December, 1966.
