HomeMy WebLinkAbout1957-09-12211 Called Meeting Euless City Council September 12, 7957 Mayor Millican called his council in a special session for 7:30 p.m., September 12, 1957. Present and voting were Councilmen G. L. Anders, J. S. Anderson, Paul Horton, and W. 0. Murray. Mr. Strachan of Rady Engineering Company was present at the Mayor's invitation and considerably enhanced our knowledge on intricate problems involved in setting up a house - numbering system. However, Mr. Strachan has begun a master plan for the City of Euless which will be available to the public in the future. On a motion by Councilman Anderson, seconded by Councilman Murray, the first increment of Oakwood Terrace, an addition to the City of Euless, including blocks 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10, was tentatively approved by the City Council, subject to the clarification and uses of blocks 9 and 10. The motion was adopted. Councilman Anders offered a motion with a second from Councilman Anderson, that the map of a master plan of house - numbering for the City of Euless, as presented by Mr. Strachan of Rady Engineering Company, be accepted and adopted. The motion was adopted. A second motion by Councilman Anders, was seconded by Councilman Murray, said motion authorizing and instructing the City Secretary to purchase two signs, "No Parking - 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m."; two metal posts and one gallon of white concrete paint. The motion was adopted . Councilman Anderson made the motion, with a second by Councilman Anders that when the developers or builders are already under bond or similar requirements to F.H.A. to curb, gutter and pave streets dedicated by them for public use, and are proceeding to meet such requirements along with other development, the City of Euless reserves the right to waive the requirements of a City bond. But, where the developer or builder is not otherwise bonded or under similar requirements to curb, gutter and pave dedicated streets, the required bond to the City of Euless as provided for in Ordinance No. 50, must be posted. The motion was adopted. Councilman Murray offered a motion, seconded by Councilman Anderson, that the C i t y Council accept the i n i t i a l plat of Midway Park Addition, Blocks 1, 2, 3, and 12, as submitted. The motion was adopted. Cn a final motion by Councilman Murray, seconded by Councilman Anders, it was moved that in accordance with the provisions of motion number 4 of these minutes, the Building Commissioner is authorized and instructed to issue permits to Midway Park developers 212 Called Meetinq, Euless City Council, September 12, 1957) and other developers in the future under similar circumstances without requiring the posting of a bond to the City for curb, gutter and paving.
