HomeMy WebLinkAbout1957-09-21!1,2 Called Meeting Euless City Council September 21, 1957 The City Council met in a special session September 21, 1957, at 7:30 p.m. The primary purpose of the meeting was to take action on proposed Ordinance No. 85, creating a residential area with building lots a minimum width of sixty feet at the front building line. However, this action was delayed due to the lack of a copy of the ordinance. No one was present to voice objections to the ordinance, or its adoption. Can a motion by Councilman Anderson, seconded by Councilman Cadenhead, authority was given Texas Electric Service Company to install street lights around Lawrence D. Bell High School, and on Highway 183 and the county road leading to the high school, namely seven mercury vapor lights at the school and one incandescent light on Highway 183. The approval was unanimous. On another motion by Councilman Anderson, seconded by Councilman Cadenhead, moved that the City Council adopt Resolution No. 12, authorizing the Mayor to sign an agreement with Texas Electric Service Company whereby Texas Electric Service is to furnish electric power for street lights around the Lawrence D. Bell High School in the City of Euless and install such lights as are requested by the City. The motion was unanimously adopted . A motion by Councilman Cadenhead, seconded by Councilman Anderson, was unanimously adopted authorizing Chief of Police Sustaire to have two safety belts installed in the City's patrol car. A final motion by Councilman Cadenhead, seconded by Councilman Murray, was adopted authorizing Texas Power & Light Company to install four street lights in Midway Park Addition. Anderson, S. H. Cadenhead, and W. 0. Murray. Also meeting with the Council was Mr. J. D. Foster of the Texas Electric Service Company, who having made a study of the needs for street lights around Lawrence D. Bell High School, as requested by the Council at a previous date, brought his suggestions before the Council.
