HomeMy WebLinkAbout67-190 10-10-1967RESOLUTION NO. 190 WHEREAS, on Saturday, October 7, 1967, there occurred, in Euless, an attempted armed robbery in a large retail grocery store, and WHEREAS, the lives and personal safety of a substantial number of Euless citizens. and visitors to Euless, were placed in jeopardy during such attempted armed robbery, and WHEREAS, Euless Police Sergeant T. R. Eddings challenged the armed and desperate felons to save the lives and property of others, and WHEREAS, the actions of Police Sergeant T. R. Eddings and other officers demon- strated a deep devotion to preservation of law and order and a total commitment to the protection of the lives and property of others, and WHEREAS, the said T. R. Eddings and other officers acted in complete and total disregard of their own personal safety in challenging the awned felons in the act of committing a most serious criminal offense, and WHEREAS, The Euless City Council deems it Just, right and proper that due public recognition be taken of the brave and courageous action of Officer T. R. Eddings and the other officers. NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved that Euless Police Officer T. R. Eddings, and other officers, Commissioned Officers Richard Hamm and 8111 Robinson, and Reserve Officers Russell Crawford, E. E. Jones, and Earl Rogers, be publicly commended for their unselfish acts of heroism and courage in disarming and apprehending the armed felons in the City of Euless on October 7, 1967. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this resolution be spread upon minutes of these council proceedings and that a copy hereof be posted in a prominent piece at the Euless City Hall. ADOPTED, this the 10th day of October , at a regular meeting of the Euless City Council, by a vote of 4 ayes and 0 nayes. ATTEST: City Secretary
